Allela was bored and the summer months were quickly approaching. She had a few nights off work and there was nothing that she needed to do in her apartment, Ryder was busy with other plans and she would rather move back home than spend another night sitting in her apartment watching the crap that was on television. She enjoyed relaxing with her record collection and video games, but there was only so much a twenty year old could do before that need for socialisation, rebellion and a good party became overwhelming. After sending a few text messages, she found out that one of her acquaintances from work was throwing a party tonight and after a quick chat with him she had the address, time and attitude for a good night she hoped not to remember.
She also needed someone to drag along with her. Allela scrolled through her phone whilst she searched through her wardrobe for something to wear tonight. It was pretty warm and she did have a new top that she was dying to wear since she found it on sale the last time she got paid. Grabbing an outfit with as much care as she had for maths, Allela dumped the clothes on the bed and moved to grab some dinner and check that Jesse had enough food and water before she left the apartment. When Allela went to parties, it wasn’t as though she planned a curfew and with the chance to spend the whole of the next day asleep if she needed to, the Scottish brunette was looking forward to a great night with whichever friend she could drag from the comfort of their home. A smirk crossed her lips as her eyes fell on the name that jumped out at her. If there was one person in her contact list she could corrupt with a night of Sambuca shots and bad dancing, it would be Rhiannon. Allela knew that if she wanted the redhead to join her then she would have to literally kidnap the young artist from her lair of comic book designs and voluntary solitary confinement.
Still, the musician was convinced that a night away from Rhi’s normal lifestyle would do the girl a world of good. Allela changed quickly from her loungewear into her laid out outfit and then grabbed her things before locking up and leaving her apartment, walking the way to Rhi’s place whilst humming along to the song in her head. If she had called her friend first to give her the plan then she was fairly certain that the redheaded artist would not agree to the idea quite so easily as if Allela turned up on the doorstep and delivered the same message. The messy haired brunette was stubborn if not anything else and she wasn’t about to take no for an answer as she approached the tall building that was typical of New York’s architecture. Seeking out the buzzer for her friend’s door, she held her black polished finger on the button and then stepped back, waiting for someone to let her in so her skills of persuasion could begin.

The day wasn’t complete unless Rhi spent nearly all of it hidden away in her lair, sketching or inking. She felt like the day really was wasted if she didn’t get in a solid nine hours, in between runs to the book store, art store and random shopping trips. She was thankful the circuits were over. Those weeks she went from hotel to convention center and back again before she hit the airport for the next part. It was good to be back in New York. She’d taken a couple days from work to just pretend she was that little bottle ginger socialite who had nothing more pressing than finding a dress for the next high society event; which she actually did during her break. The big fundraiser for the hospital was coming up and this year Rhi wanted to dazzle walking through those doors. It was practically the only event in a year that she got to choose what she wore herself, without her fashionista mother’s help. She went to a dozen different stores and managed to buy everything but a dress for the night; until that final store, naturally. It’s always the last place you look that you find exactly what you were searching for. In Rhi’s case, it was the hot pink mermaid number.
After that, she’d been too exhausted to even think about shoes or accessories to complete the look. Now, though, she had everything for that night aside from a date, but she wasn’t the type to need to have some arm candy to attend these things. Besides that, if she showed up with a man on her arm, no matter what the relationship was, there would be more questions than Rhi cared for. She kept most of her life from her parents, knowing they would force her back home, force her to enrol in college and force her to quit the one thing in her life that meant more to her than she could put into words for them. Rhi sighed, leaning back on the stool to take a seconds break from the detailing in front of her. The page was almost complete, just a couple little things here and there and the only thing left would be to dry. She took a quick sip from the water bottle never far from her in the studio before setting it aside again and going back to the work on her artists’ desk.
She didn’t know how much time passed. She’d finished that first page, though and went through another two when the sound of the door’s buzzer filled her head. Rhi had heard the buzzer eventually but with Reese closer, she let him take over responsible brotherly duties and get it himself. She figured it was probably one of his friends or classmates anyway. Or Parker coming to eventually crash on the couch after raiding the liquor cabinet the siblings kept fully stocked, just in case. The boy was spending more and more time vegging out on the couch, Rhi was beginning to wonder if he was going to ask to move in with them! She knew that was far from likely with him liking living with his grandfather too much, but lately, he’d been a fixture on their couch more than she saw him at work or in his own house. When she heard the knock and Reese’s voice directing the person to her studio despite all her friend’s knowing the path blindfolded, she knew it wasn’t for him, despite the laughter she heard.
She couldn’t quite hear the other voice, but that didn’t stop her from guessing at who it could be. She didn’t have many friends, but there were enough to know where she lived and the path down the hall. And Rhi knew it wasn’t Nix walking down that hallway, aside from Parker and Reese, he was the only other guy in her life even close to her age. Hearing footsteps get louder, Rhi set her inking pen down and turn around to finally see who was searching her out. When she saw the Dark haired Scottish girl, Rhi smiled and laughed. “Allela! What are you doing here?”

There was a lot of Allela’s life that was kept from the rest of the Rosslyn brood. The adventures they heard of were edited down to protect them from panicking about the truth of what the young brunette got up to away from their city house. They wouldn’t have known about the incidents in high school if she hadn’t been expelled from the catholic school. They definitely didn’t know about what happened during her college days and university was summarised as “not for me” whenever it cropped up in family conversations around the dinner table. They didn’t need the worry in their lives and Allela had learnt enough now to know how to take care of herself without having to reveal details to the Scottish relatives.
She might’ve missed home from time to time, but New York had captured her heart in a way Glasgow simply hadn’t and now she was finally finding her feet in the world. However, nights like tonight were needed to balance all of that out; she was only twenty, after all. When Allela went on a night out, it was one to remember after the hangover cleared away. She didn’t do it too often, but when she did, she could get a little carried away. She felt her redheaded friend needed to get a little carried away though and the brunette was volunteering herself as the one to provide her with that break from the quiet reality Rhi lived in.
Allela greeted Reese when he let her inside, not really surprised that it was the brother who opened the door rather than the girl she was determined to kidnap tonight. Briefly dropping her plan to the older Webb child who seemed keen enough for the Scottish girl to drag his sister to a party, she stalked towards the studio she had been in a few times before. At Rhi’s recognition of her, Allela smirked and rested her hands on her hips. “Come on, you, get ready and we’re gooin' oot.”
She instructed, her stubborn streak refusing to let the artist reject her suggestion. There wasn’t a snowball’s chance in hell of the dark haired musician allowing her friend to walk away from this and Allela was determined to drag her out and not return her until the early hours of the next morning, hopefully as a giggling mess with some strange souvenir from the night, like a cone or a sign from some construction work. It was a good night if there was an inexplicable object as the centrepiece of the kitchen come the next morning. “There’s a guy from work havin' a party and you’re comin' wit' me.” She told her, grinning and wiggling her eyebrows as she waited for her friend to abandon whatever she was working on and join her on a night out that could get pretty interesting if it was anything like the last party thrown by one of the Broadway staff. Allela had spent three days finding streamers and glitter in her wild hair and parts of the night had been collectively forgotten between the staff thanks to tequila and a drinking challenge she could’ve sworn Ryder instigated just to get her into a right mess for the early morning rehearsal she was working for. For someone who barely left their apartment, Rhi had quite a few friends around willing to drag her from the depths of her imagination. There definitely weren’t many people around that would get the bottled ginger out of the apartment short of a fire and being forcibly removed, dragged kicking and screaming, fighting every single step of the way. But the Scottish music lover was one of those select few. Rhi always had fun when Allela dropped by to steal her away for this or that. And Rhiannon never quite knew what they were going to get into when she walked out that door. With Reese, they chattered on about pretty much anything, no topic off limits. With Parker, it was really the same, they could talk about anything but Rhi found herself running off about work more often, and laughing when her head catches up with her mouth. Nix was her soundboard and Lexi was a part of her other world. Her world was a little like the superheroes the young socialite loved so much. She had the real world, which to her was drawing and hanging out with those friends not entirely of the blue blooded, upper crust world she grew up in. And then there was her alternate world, the one she had to be fake in; wear a mask. Only her mask was an elegant dress, expensive shoes and a charming smile.
With Allela and the crowd the brunette brought her around, she didn’t have to worry about anything getting back to her snooty, blue blooded, society queen mother. She could be herself, have a good time, and have too many memories to remember. At the demand, Rhi smirked, raising a perfectly groomed brow but still, she stood. A lot of Rhi’s friends were stubborn like this, not even giving her a chance to decline; which was why she loved the friends she did. With the way she was, if she were given an option, she’d always choose to stay behind and work in the world she created. But, especially with Allela, she wasn’t given the option from the get go. There was absolutely no inch to maneuver with the brunette; it was her way or the highway and Rhi needed that when she’d been stuck in her apartment for the past three days working nearly nonstop. The young ginger was already logging in more hours than the men and women of Wall Street and their lawyers.
“Five minutes,” she said, with a dramatic sigh. There wasn’t a snowballs chance in hell she was going to be allowed to skip out on the night, Allela would let her and she had a feeling if she tried, Reese would be right next to her Scottish friend, maybe even carrying her out of the studio and locking the door behind them. She turned capping the inking pen and setting back in its place before glancing around the room to make sure everything was alright where it was. Satisfied, Rhi slipped passed Allela and headed straight for the next room and the closet. Rhi didn’t even look through her clothes; she just grabbed the first things that caught her eye, keeping in mind of what Allela was wearing. When she was finished, she checked her appearance in the door mounted mirror in her closet and grinned. She hadn’t meant to match but it looked cute. “Alright! I’m ready!” she called out, stepping back out of her bedroom with her bag in one hand, shoes in the other.

Allela knew that she was a bit of a unique one in Rhi’s little world. The brunette could only spend so long inside before she went stir crazy and not even her drums, guitar or extensive record collection could prevent that from happening after a little more than twenty four short hours. She needed to get out there. She wasn’t a social butterfly at all and she had been called “scary” more times than she could probably count, but that didn’t change anything about who the Scottish girl was. Back in Glasgow there were many just like her, but in New York it seemed to be all divided up into strange little cliques and wealthy societies that Allela didn’t even try to begin to understand. If people had money then good for them, if people didn’t then there had to be things done to help them help themselves. She didn’t see why she should treat one different from the other at the end of the day and maybe tonight she’d stick out, or Rhi would stick out or they’d find themselves mixed up with a ton of other outcasts who didn’t quite belong like the natives did.
Her own world consisted of wild adventures that were kept to themselves, or the group of people who knew how things were and made no attempt to report the antics to someone of authority or the families of those involved. Her lifestyle was fairly grounded, but everyone needed to let loose from time to time and live like there wasn’t going to be a sunrise, which Allela did at least once a month and usually had the scars or bruises to go along with it come the next day once the hangover had subsided. She thought Rhi needed to experience at least one wild night complete with the banter of random strangers, the thrill of doing something crazy and the ‘what did I do’ moments of the following morning. She still couldn’t understand how the red head managed to spend so much time alone without getting antsy and frustrated. Allela needed that alcohol induced break from reality, but Rhiannon always seemed happy and bubbly with her own thoughts and her artwork.
Smirking at her friend’s quick surrender to the plan, Allela folded her arms and watched Rhiannon move to change, taking the time alone to fluff her hair up more and check her bag for everything she would need. They may have been going to a house party, but that didn’t mean that the night would end there; Allela’s drifting ways often meant that she would find herself down by the harbour or near the park come the end of the night. If she got bored, she had to move on and it was as simple as that for the young musician. She looked across at Rhi when she emerged again and a friendly smirk crossed her lips. “An’ whit superhero are we bein’ tonight?”
She teased, raising a carefully shaped eyebrow too. She waited for Rhi to slip her shoes on and finish getting ready before grabbing her friend’s hand and dragging her from the apartment, shouting across to Reese as they went. “Dinnae expect her hame early. An’ I make nae promises aboot tats or piercin’s.” She said, playfully teasing the older brother like she would do her own before they left. Allela took a moment to get her bearings again once outside and then pointed down the street. “It should jes’ be a few blocks from here.” She stated, starting out down the busy sidewalk, keeping Rhi close just so she didn’t lose her in the crowds. There weren’t many people in Rhi’s life that she would just give up work to go anywhere with. Her brother, her uncle, Nix and Allela were about the only people who could get her up and out without much hesitation. They never led her down a path that ended her up in lock up for the night, so why not? With Nix, she usually ended up somewhere crazy, with the music just a bit too loud and everyone just a bit too hyper. With Allela, Rhi woke up not remembering much of the night before and had to piece it together with the things surrounding her. She almost always made it home; if not she woke up in Allela’s spare bedroom, hung over and wishing she’d stopped at one drink.
Rhi knew she spent too much time alone with her thoughts and the superheroes and villains she created. She was aware, despite what everyone thought. But when she got going, it was just too hard to resist and just had to continue; which was how she managed to work for hours on end without realizing more time had passed than she thought. Rhi shrugged, grinning. ”The night’s still young. We’ve still got time to figure that out,” she said, laughing at her own stupid words. They were nerdy and so like her. Rhi tumbled onto the couch shoving her feet into the two week old sandals she impulsively bought while out searching for her Masquerade Ball gown. She’d ended up buying four new pairs of shoes and so many extra accessories it was a little ridiculous.
She did them up, standing and doing a little catwalk to make sure she would be able to walk in them after drinks. She was about to make some sarcastic comment on her own odd ways when Allela grabbed her hand and they were headed right out the door. ”New tattoos?! I’ve always wanted to get my nose pierced, too!” Rhi said just loud enough for her brother to hear her and be a little concerned his little sister was going to do something drastic. ”Make sure the party people leave before noon tomorrow! Uncle Nate’s stopping by!” she added, laughing, though the last part was truthful. Once they were outside, Rhi was thankful she’d decided on what she did. It was humid out and wearing half the things in her closet would have resulted in her running back up into the apartment to change into something… less. ”Lead the way!” Rhi said laughing happily, sticking close to her friends’ side.

On night’s out, Allela was usually pretty well behaved. Occasionally, there might have been a punch or two thrown but that was usually only when a guy got a little too touchy-feely in a club and didn’t understand the first threat Allela sent their way with a cold hard glare. Still, she had fun and always managed to get into some sort of rebellious adventure. The last time, she had found herself scaling down the drainpipe from the bathroom window in a pair of heels and a ruined shirt that had been stained with something Allela didn’t even want to know once she sobered up and found that she had several blanks in the memories of the evening.
Shaking her head, Allela pushed the dark hair back from her face. Rhi certainly did need dragging away from the comics and the heroes every now and then. Allela loved superheroes and comics, so much so that she did have several decorated shirts and accessories; even the barbells in her ears were currently Batman themed! It was one side of her personality that didn’t shine through quite as bright as it did in Rhi, but it existed when she wasn’t engrossed in music or partying it up in the city while she was still young. “An’ I’m sure we’ll figure it oot at the bottom of a tequila bootle.”
She said with a rebellious smirk on her face as she placed her hands on her slender hips. Allela watched her friend find some balance in the shoes and then that was it; there was a party starting and she needed to be there with some drinks and some potential chances of trouble. Grinning as Rhi taunted her older brother a bit, Allela couldn’t help but to make it seem as though they really would go ahead with the plan of body modification. “I know a place that’s open all night! We can go there before getting food and crashing in the dumpsters again.” She remembered what it was like to tease her older brothers about her antics on a night out, always exaggerating what she might get up to just for the fun of it! They weren’t in New York though and didn’t hear of what the young brunette did out there, so helping Rhi tease Reese was the next best thing. “Will you even be hame by then?” The Scottish girl joked as they left the apartment, Allela taking a moment to get her bearings before leading them up the street the way she had come from. The party was only a short walk away and the music could be heard before they even entered the building, the noise emitting from the third storey where Allela’s eye could already make out the figures of some people as they reached the door, buzzing up and then dragging Rhi up the building’s stairwell to where the fun was only just getting started. On these rare nights out, Rhiannon liked letting loose, having fun and getting into a little bit of trouble. She was always locked away in her tower of comic. So, when she was rescued from her tower she enjoyed being a little wild and crazy. It was how she had so many tattoos and piercings. A night out was how she’d gotten the cupcake on her ankle and woken up with a dull ache going through the top of her ear; she’d gotten in pierced. Of course, not every night ended up new ink and holes in her body; just a few. She did things like that, she didn’t get into fights or yelling matches. She got drunk and did something stupid, though she hardly regretted anything she did. These days when she wasn’t drawing up her ideas for her own comic books on schedule, she was drawing up new tattoo ideas and thoughts about that. She’d been thinking about a new one for a while but the only one she’d gotten sober was her brother’s initials on her wrist. She’d needed a good night out to get her to go through with it.
“We’ll need at least two of those bottles!” Rhi said, knowing their words were stirring her brother up. She was still so young, much younger than most of her friends. But age was just a number and Rhiannon adored her friends! They all let her see a different side of the city, which gave her ideas for her work. Dressed, ready and knowing Reese would go grey before his time worrying about her; she was out the door with Allela, calling out teasingly to her brother as they went. “The dumpsters! Aw, fond memories,” Rhiannon said, grinning innocently as leaving it at that. The tattoos she had in the back of her mind, and she had pictures of the ones she drew on her phone. If they did end up at a parlour, she had what she wanted on hand readily available. Rhi laughed, shaking her head. “Who knows!” she said, shrugging. When she went out on the town with Allela or well, any of her friends, she didn’t know when she’d make it home or where she’d end up to during the night.
She always text Reese though to keep him in the know, and so he wouldn’t worry about her as much as if she hadn’t said a word; it was easier to keep him in the know anyway. Just in case anything happened and she needed a way home. The two girls’ kept up a conversation on the walk to the party. It was fairly close, so there was no need for a taxi and Rhi could use the warm up anyway. They were outside the building only long enough to buzz up and let them know more party guests were arriving. “Let the fun begin!” Rhi said, laughing as Allela dragged her up the stairs three flights to the party.

Allela’s own addiction was her piercings. She only had them in her ears, but there were still ten of them and it was a number Allela only wanted to keep adding to. In a way they were her kryptonite and every time she passed by one of the parlours, she was oh-so tempted. One day she’d run out of room, but like she told everyone who criticised her for them, if she ever grew bored of them then she could just take them out and let the holes heal over. They were only permanent if she wanted them to be and unlike tattoos, they could be easily removed and forgotten about. She only had one piece of ink on her body, but it was detailed and had been enough for her at the time, though she was tempted for something new as well, something that wasn’t forever hidden unless she was on the beach. Still, those were the kinds of things saved for adventures with friends in Allela’s eyes and for some reason, Ryder just shook his head at her whenever she mentioned heading over to “have a wee look”. It was as though he suspected she’d come out covered in ink and enough metal to make an airport security guard scream!
As the baby of her own family, Allela knew how easy and how tempting it was to tease the older siblings who were prone to worrying so much. Even now in New York she’d still fire them a text across the ocean just to keep them on their toes whenever she was heading out to a party she knew would be pretty wild. “An’ that’s only ta start with!”
She declared, pointing in the air as though it was some great defining statement that would go down in history. Laughing, she grabbed Rhi’s hand and dragged her from the apartment before Reese could find a way to hold them both captive. If anything did happen, Allela was more than capable of taking care of herself and Rhi, she had proven so in the past already. Once inside the crowded and noisy apartment, Allela greeted and introduced Rhi to a few of the people she recognised on their way to the kitchen where the drinks were on a “help yourself” basis. She had bought a bottle of vodka to add to the mix like she always did, but first snapped off one of the Guinness cans from the refrigerator, starting the night on her soft favourite. “Whit can I pour for you?” She grinned at Rhi, gesturing to the variety of drinks on the side. She hoped tonight could be a night of good fun, even if they didn’t spend the whole night at the party. Usually, they found themselves wandering down the street once a drunken buzz was in place, making crazy plans and promises for their next adventure, even it if only involved sitting on the floor of a take-out place with Allela singing the theme songs to whatever Rhi mentioned. A day wasn’t complete until Rhi had teased her big brother. He spent the entire day at the school or work or something, she would text him whenever she came back to the real world, just in case she was still so engrossed in her work when he got home that he could eat and sneak off to his room before she realized he had even gotten back. And by the time she finally emerged again from the comic world she created, she was usually so tired she barely made it back to her bed before she was sound asleep. Nights like these though were fun and gave her an excuse to get out and interact with real people that weren’t being paid to annoy her with phone calls, reminding her to call her manager or visit the publisher to drop off her latest works. Allela and Nix and the rest gave Rhi an reason to get out and meet new people, hear some new bands play and find some pretty epic stores to shop in. if it weren’t for them, Rhiannon was pretty sure she wouldn’t leave her place unless Reese or their uncle forced her out.
Rhi was still surprised Reese even let her leave the apartment without him. She was naïve and rather clueless about life in general. Everything since she was younger was about drawing, creating her own worlds in her comics and sketchbooks. She didn’t say anything more than Allela’s last words as they raced from the building before Reese decided to he was going to tag along. She loved her brother dearly, but she really didn’t want to party with him, especially since she was only eighteen and she wasn’t sure how he’d take her drinking actual alcohol and not the frivolous champagne flutes of the galas and balls they were forced into attending. Like the one coming up. She still had to find a dress for that and a mask. Rhi adored the idea of a masquerade ball; it was so mysterious and wonderful. She couldn’t wait to see all the people dolled up and not know who they were at first glance. Although, even she had to admit there was only so much a mask and nice dress could hide. And there were probably more than a few there were going to attend that she could pick out as soon as her dark eyes landed on them.
Rhiannon didn’t drink often, usually only at the fundraisers and galas her mother made her go to and even then it was bubbly champagne; and when she was with her favourite Scottish girl. Allela always had a party and a drink up her sleeve and Rhi loved trying each of the concoctions Allela handed over. Inside the party, she wove to the people her friend was introducing her to, nodding her head and smiled when one person recognized her name. She prayed it was for her comics and not because she was a ”Webb”. She hated that. That was her last name and nothing else; it did not make her who she was, it had just helped her to get there. She let out the breath she’d been holding when he mentioned her comic and her smiled turned genuine just in time for Allela to pull her along, further into the party crowd. “Surprise me,” she said, laughing. She looked over all the bottles of alcohol placed wherever all over the kitchen. It was like people just walked in, dropped the bottle on the closest clear surface, grabbed a drink and left again to mix and mingle with the bustling crowd.

Whenever Allela did find herself back on those familiar streets of Glasgow, it was like her impish side was set free to cause havoc across the bustling city. She simply loved teasing her brothers and getting into trouble with her old friends. Of course she had her adventures here in New York too, but back home there was more of a spark about doing those things and she got a bigger kick out of crashing a party back there than she did here. Still, tonight was so far trouble free and she was only intending to head out and have a fun time at the party her friend was hosting, merely dragging Rhi along for the company and just in case the night turned out to be a flop; she had someone to escape with and drag on another adventure.
Allela knew that Rhi was still on the more naïve side of things, but that never deterred her. Allela had seen and experienced more than she cared to admit and there were only two short years between the girls. She’d never let anything happen to her friend though, even if they were both running into some sort of trouble. Most of the time an angry tirade in her accent was enough to make someone back off and if that failed then she had an excuse for everything and a pretty decent right hook, if it came to that.
She took a swig from the can in her hand and then grinned at Rhi’s words. Her blue eyes scanned what she had to work with and then she snatched up some of the bottles and one of the red cups that seemed compulsory at every house party she had ever attended since moving to New York. Using a shot glass as a measure, she threw the drink together in quick speed, topping the cocktail of sorts off with some of the lemonade from an already open bottle. She put the bottles back in with the mix and then spun around with the cup in her hand. “There ya go. Git that down ya.”
She grinned, passing Rhi the drink she had just poured, while taking another mouthful from her own can and then linking arms with her friend to pull her into back out into the rest of the crowded apartment. She had no idea who else would be here tonight and the best way to find out would be to mingle. [/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • TAGGED! RHI! <3 WORDS! 445 OUTFIT! Summer Funk! Rhiannon didn’t get out often. These excursions with her friends practically carrying her from her studio is the only way she got out these days; aside from the trips she made to the shops for supplies. But even those were getting less frequent since she started picking up extras of this and that when she did get out of her shared apartment. She was usually just too excited about what she was creating on her drawing desk that she just didn’t want to leave until it was finished and the ink was drying. Rhi couldn’t deny she had fun though, even on the nights that left the two girls disappointed. In those cases there were usually plenty of people roaming the street, looking terrible and it was always fun to sit around a twenty four hour diner and poke fun at them for whatever they were wearing, their makeup or even their hair.
The ginger haired girl didn’t like to think she was as catty as the rest of the girls she’d grown up around, but the truth was, with the right people, in the right situation, she could be. The difference was that when Rhi did that, said those things, usually with Allela, she meant it all in good fun, like fashion police. Because she swore, if there were such people, the ones Rhi pointed out, wouldn’t be given tickets, they’d be shipped off to prison immediately. The things she did with the Scottish girl though, around the city, the born and bred New Yorker would never do with anyone else. She was more carefree with Allela. Probably because she knew as long as she was with the other girl, she wasn’t going to get into any trouble they couldn’t get out of together. And if Reese let her leave with the girl, knowing exactly what they got up to half the time, she couldn’t be that bad.
Rhi took the drink from Allela, staring at the cup and not the other girl. She had no idea what sort of concoction she was about to put back, but she mentally crossed her fingers that it was good. “Cheers,” she said, lifting her cup but not waiting for their drinks to connect in the proper manner. She took a sip from the drink, not surprised it actually tasted good before Allela linked arms and brought her back into the fray of the party. Rhiannon didn’t know a soul other than Allela but her friend knew a few people. It was the party of a friend from her work. So there had to have been some people from the theatre there. She kept her dark eyes wide open, scanning the room as casually as she could from behind the rim of her cup. If anything the night would give her some good pieces for her next couple of ideas.
