Fallon had been groomed since she was a small child to either take over the family business or become the next red carpet princess. She grew up on sets, running lines and learning how to do what Trevor did. By the time she was a teenager, she’d already sat in on so many meetings, she could run part of the business herself! And by the time she was sixteen, she’d run a couple of those meetings all on her own because Trevor couldn’t do it himself. She’s gotten herself into some messes, but because of everything she didn’t want Trevor to throw her out on her ass, so she’d played it safe for the better half of her life. College was her way of breaking out of that good girl shell. Those four years were her escape before the real world came knocking. She drank too much, partied too hard, broke a couple bones, a lot more rules and just let loose. If that made her crazy, then she would gladly accept the title with pride and a princess wave. Fallon nodded her head though, thinking about the short time she’d spent in high school, and how much of it now she spent looking up old classmates who were determined to make it big, with or without Fallon’s help; always without. Fallon had found herself a few times, checking IMDB for her old classmates names and faces. She’d only found one for as many times as she tried, but it always made her fall into a chair laughing every time she saw it. “Do you remember Missy… something or other?” she asked, curious if her fellow California blonde knew of their classmates career path.
"Nice of you to mention your feelings so early in the relationship, Immy," Fallon said dully. Fallon wished someone would have thrown out her rose tinted glasses back in high school; the past seven years wouldn’t have been so unknowingly heart breaking. Of course then, they might not be together now if they’d gotten together then and it was just too much what if and backwards thinking and it had Fallon shaking her head to get all those thoughts out of there. Everything would have been different if all of that had happened, or hadn’t happened. She still felt stupid for not seeing it herself, but in her defense, he had hidden it all pretty damn well, even going so far as to sleep with her to hide it all. But he couldn’t hide anything when she walked in on him. “Everything happens for a reason, right?” she asked, with a shrug. It wasn’t a story the petite blonde went around telling everyone, but she wasn’t destroyed over it and now it was just another thing to look back on and roll her eyes at.
Fallon waved that away. Everyone was allowed to make mistakes and as long as they were corrected quickly, no harm done; at least not much of any. "You spit it up, no harm, no foul," she said, getting that it could be something to worry about; if she hadn’t caught herself or known at all she was pregnant. "And if I ever have kids, I'll probably do the same. I can just see it happening, so you're not alone," she said rolling her eyes. Kids for herself had never been an issue with Fallon. She'd never thought about kids at all. With the way she grew up and then the way she thought she was going to live her life for the longest time, Kids hadn't really been ideal. She didn't want to put her children through what she went through. And then she went into teaching instead and at first it seemed like kids would be alright with that lifestyle but she'd never pictured herself with Brad and kids. If she were being honest with herself, she never pictured Brad in her future at all. It was a wonder their relationship went as far as it had!
Gabe now was a different story but the tiny blonde wasn't about to go around chattering about that or yelling from the rooftops. It may have been seven years in the making but it was still a new relationship. And she was back to being undecided about children at all. "I hope you know that your baby is going to be spoilt rotten by their auntie Fallon," she said, grinning, reaching over to give her friend a tight hug. "And any way I can help, I will. I do love shopping and I'm not as useless as I pretend to be with tools," she said, grinning knowingly. When she'd first moved and had things that needed to be assembled, she'd conned the movers into doing it for her or calling Myles when she was alone and eventually Gabe when he moved to the city. There were other things that she’d put together, too, but she always brushed it off saying a neighbour did it for her. It had always made the guys around her feel better about themselves that the poor helpless little blonde couldn’t figure out which screwdriver was which so she let them have it every now and again. “Congratulations, sweetie, I’m so excited for you,” she said, sipping at the water bottle she’d picked up.

Imogen really had tried to rebel against the family ideals in her own little way. The sneaking off had been the main thing, but the fact that she genuinely felt that she needed to do that only implied that a career with the family business had not been for her at all. She knew that though, always dreaming of a freer life where she could sort of come and go as she pleased. For now, freelance journalism and her little crafts adventure were exactly that and she felt so much better for it all. Her brother dealt with the stresses of the hotel and she had seen just how much he had missed out on to keep on top of it all. She wanted Jack to be happy, but at the rate he was going at the time of her LA exit, he was on the path to making that hotel his life. It was probably even worse now, but she couldn’t get back in touch with him; not yet. Out of her family she knew that he would understand best of all, but she wasn’t ready for the Q&A that would come with that phone call and even then she didn’t want her parents knowing that she had moved to New York. “Missy Osbourne? She hated my guts and all because Joshua Franklin asked me to prom. I even turned him down!”
He had been a nice enough kid, alright, but Imogen already had a date for that event, though the night did not go as she planned and her arrival back home just after midnight had Jack asking who he should maim first. Rolling her eyes, Imogen shrugged. “Most of the girls back home thought Brad was a god. And you were some exotic Hollywood bird who came in and stole him away from the natives.” Imogen teased, remembering the time only a little too well and how some of the girls genuinely thought their lives were over just because Brad was off the market. Imogen hadn’t seen it personally, even before Fallon dated him. He just wasn’t her cup of tea and that had always been the blonde’s problem; she was too fussy and didn’t want another LA hunk using her as some sort of trophy girlfriend. Wanting more from the life you had been blessed with was in fact a curse and one Imogen knew only too well. “Of course it does! And now you’re dreaming of the happy ending with that lanky know-it-all kid.” Imogen did know Gabe’s name, but she had far too much fun teasing Fallon. “It’s a good waste of wine.” That was the harm of it really. Imogen hated wasting anything at all, but losing her usual stress relief was more annoying than anything else. It was a habit by now and had been for the last three years, at least. She had to constantly remind herself of things these days and while a hot bath did work wonders, sometimes she still wanted to curl up with a black and white movie and a glass of merlot. Imogen shot her friend a green eyed look of disbelief and then shook her head. “You’ll be having kids. There’s no way you’re going to make it through the rest of your life without wanting to pop out a mini-genius for some lucky girl to one day call her own.” With the way Fallon spoke about Gabe it seemed inevitable that the pair wouldn’t eventually plan a child or have an accident of their own. Her friend was crazy about the man and it was more obvious than the college professor seemed to realise. Imogen didn’t care if Fallon was in denial about that or trying not to think about the future with Gabe; it was part of her role as friend to annoy the hell out of her and make her think about these things. Laughing, Imogen felt herself relax a little bit. It hadn’t gone as badly as she feared and now she had someone to drag through it with her. “I was afraid of that happening! You just have to promise you’re not going to make me look like some evil mom.” It felt weird calling herself that, but it was just something else Immy was going to have to get used to before the end of the year. “I’m sure we can have some fun with most of that stuff.” She said with a nod. Imogen did have a knack for throwing furniture together and her own toolbox was one of her favourite things to pull out from time to time. She had put together most of the bookcases and several other pieces of furniture that now made her new home as cosy as it was for a spacious apartment that was still awaiting it’s second resident to arrive. Imogen reckoned that baby proofing everything would prove to be the challenge, especially getting used to it! Hugging her friend back, Imogen smiled and nodded. “Thanks. You’re actually the first person I’ve told, aside from my new doctor.” Though, really, that ought to be obvious considering she was almost three months pregnant already. Fallon nodded, snapping her fingers at the last name. She should have known it with the amount of times she’d checked on that website for her classmates, but bringing her up had brought along a blank memory with it. “She’s a porn star,” she said, laughing at the path her career had taken. Fallon hadn’t really listened to those people who ran on and on about how they were going to make it big. She’d lived in the industry, she knew firsthand how difficult it was unless you had exceptional talent and an in already. She herself never played a starring role, but Fallon had never been interested in being in front of a camera anyway, she much preferred life behind the lens and away from the lights. It had taken quite a bit of searching since she didn’t use her real name for her stage name, but she did keep her first name, so it only took a few dozen or so clicks before she recognized a face.
Fallon had gone to the prom but she didn’t stay the entire night and had never left Brad there because she needed to catch a flight to Seattle for a film. She was Trevor’s go-to when he wanted to see a new talent. She was an excellent actress, despite never wanting to be one; she could present any emotion she needed to play the part and had a few minor roles throughout her life because they couldn’t find a suitable actress to play the part. Fallon rolled her eyes. “Someone should have hit me over the head with the smart stick,” she muttered as she looked away from her oldest and dearest friend. Brad had been one of the first guys to take an interest in Fallon who wasn’t an actor. She was annoyed with them, they had money and flaunted it, showed it off and Fallon couldn’t stand that. She had money, too, but she didn’t rub it in everyone’s faces; not on purpose at least, though she was sure there were a few that took offence to it. After all of that with Brad though, Fallon hadn’t been interested in any of the stereotypical LA men. And then she finally opened those blue eyes of her to what she already had with Gabe and how much she wanted to expand on that. She was dreaming of that happily ever after with Gabe, but she didn’t want to say anything out loud just yet and jinx them so she simply rolled her eyes and jumped right over the remark.
“Call me and I will drink the stress away for you! And stock my mini fridge with your wine,” she added, knowing how much Immy had loved her wine. Fallon didn’t have quite the same fondness for the stuff and rarely actually drank it at all unless she was having a glass with dinner. Fallon laughed at the mere thought of a mini Gabe running around, no doubt falling face first after only a few steps. The man was quite possibly the clumsiest man she knew, a child could be even worse! But it would be adorable; maybe one day but neither have brought it up yet. They were taking things nice and slow, enjoying the honeymoon phase they were still in. “I have your kid to spoil,” Fallon said shaking her head. She wasn’t so much in denial about having kids as she didn’t want to ruin something by saying something about it too soon. “I promise I won’t do anything to make you look like a terrible mommy, I’ll just do enough to make me look like the best aunt in the world,” she said teasingly. Fallon could see now quite a few nights doing things for the new baby. “It’ll be an adventure,” Fallon said, imagining the trouble the two friends were going to get into doing all these things in the upcoming months. “And I’m sure it’ll get easier to tell people.” It would have to once she started showing because people were going to start asking.

Imogen burst out laughing at Fallon’s news. There were very few people that she kept in touch with from high school and the only one she would even say she was close to these days was Fallon, even before the move to New York had happened. They might have survived for the last few years with infrequent phone calls but there had never been those awkward silences and nothing to talk about like what happened with so many others when Imogen bumped into them or made plans for coffee. “Wow, I knew she was desperate but really? That’s priceless.”
There was no doubt that their high school reunion would be one to remember if either of them chose to attend it when the time came. “I think we were too busy using that stick on Ryan Lemche. Remember, he was the guy completely in love with Courtney Connors even though she had openly cheated on him with most of the football team.” Imogen had actually thought Ryan was a nice guy and he did deserve a hell of a lot better than Courtney, who thought she was some supermodel who clicked her fingers and had guys falling around her. The guys really just seemed to want to add that notch to the bedpost, but Courtney apparently didn’t care and just trampled over a very sweet boyfriend just to get laid. Imogen had confronted her more times than she could remember, but someone always seemed to intervene before it could get physical. Imogen had never been a violent or aggressive person, but she did stand up for people, whether she knew them well or not. Her reputation could get dragged through the dirt, but she could hold her head up high and proudly say that she was nothing like some of the bitches who had been in her graduating class. She might be in a questionable position now and she might have run away from home and the responsibilities she had previously held there, but she had never acted like her actions wouldn’t carry heavy consequences. Imogen understood that her own mistakes and foolishness had brought her here, but she wasn’t hiding from it or trying to ignore it. Slowly, she was rising to the challenge, making the necessary plans and purchases to prepare for motherhood. “Somehow I don’t think watching you drink my wine will do anything for my stress levels other than increase them.” Imogen said, shaking her head at her friend’s suggestion. Her green eyes shot Fallon a look and Imogen couldn’t resist teasing her fellow blonde a little more. “Yes, but I have to be able to spoil one, too. It’s only fair.” With the stories she had already heard and the way Fallon spoke about the scholar who had completely swept her off her feet, Imogen knew that it wouldn’t be such a far flung theory to imagine the miniature versions of them both running around the city in just a few short years. “That’s probably an understatement.” Imogen smirked. These next months and then the years that would follow would probably be more than an adventure, at least for her. She knew she’d mess up along the way, make mistakes, fight with her child and probably even feel hopeless at times, but she also knew that it would all be worth it in the end. “There’s no one else to tell.” Imogen said quietly, realising how sad that sounded once she said it out loud. Fallon didn’t keep good tabs on the people from that school, but every once in a while, she checked them out. And she had an excuse to go searching through that particular website. She did do a ton of work with her uncle’s studio, so whenever she was bored and needed something to do, she searched. Lately, she wasn’t getting that many chances but there were a few minutes here or there that she could spend on something useless like that. Fallon had always tried to keep in touch with the friends she did care about from her year as a regular person, but with the busy schedule of school, work and the college edition of a social life, she had been lucky if she remembered to eat most of the time back then! The blonde professor was really glad that Imogen had moved to New York though. It meant there would be more and easier chances to just hang out and get a few laughs in. Fallon had really missed Imogen most of all. “Worse, or better on how you look at it, she doesn’t have ten titles to her credit,” Fallon added, shaking her head. There were far better ways to get into the entertainment industry, if Fallon were taking the girls’ words from high school to heart anyway.
Fallon nodded, remembering the guy in question. Fallon had been close to him in their English class. He was funny and very sweet. She’d thought along with half the girls in the senior class that he deserved so much better than that girl. “He did need that stick more than me,” she said, rolling her eyes. At least, she could boast Brad hadn’t openly cheated on her, since all of his exploits were hidden away so well. She wondered though, if she hadn’t decided to surprise him with lunch at his office that day if they really would have gone through with the wedding or if he would have decided that was too far and left her at the altar. In a way, she was lucky it had never gotten that far. She would still be in Los Angeles if it had, and probably back to that teaching assistant gig she’d had before her professor’s pregnancy.
“I’ll just have to stop by sometime and empty your bar of any and all temptation,” She said sticking her tongue out childishly. Even now with Gabe and life being perfect at the moment, Fallon wasn’t thinking about kids, or even the future. It was all still new despite how long ago it should have started. And Fallon wasn’t about to chance anything with their upcoming trips. It was going to be stressful enough meeting his parents and grandfather. “Find someone in your building,” she said, rolling her eyes. Thinking about Imogen having kids had sparked the thought in Fallon, she would admit that. But she still wasn’t about to bring it up in conversation. She liked where they were now, with nothing more pressing than what to pack for either trip, what restaurant they should order from or which club they should hit first and which one is closest to either of their apartments by the end of the night for Myles to crawl to. And besides, she wasn’t ready for children, was she, were they? It was just a little overwhelming when she really took the time to think about it. She loved the man but they’d only just made their relationship official, and okay, they did do every step thus far a little out of order, but still!
Fallon grinned, patting her friends shoulder. “Probably,” she agreed, taking a sip from her water. The next chapter in Immy’s life was happening and Fallon was just happy that she was going to be able to help her friend out in whatever way she needed. There were going to be mistakes, fights and countless nights sitting around the kitchen table with a glass of red or a tub of ice cream each and a spoon wondering where everything went wrong and how it was going to get better. Fallon’s eyes narrowed as she capped her water and slipped it back into her bag. “Not even Jack? What the hell happened Imogen?” Fallon asked, unable to phrase that lightly. Jack and Immy were as close as Fallon was to Trevor. She told the man everything and Fall had always thought the siblings were as thick as thieves.

“At least I can cross that one off my bucket list; punch a porn star.”
Usually, Imogen had much more control over her temper but there had been one time just after one of the high school football games when Missy’s jibes and comments that had no substance whatsoever really seemed to piss off the young blonde. It had been exactly what both girls needed and since that incident Missy kept her remarks to whispers and glares and Imogen just smirked, replaying the moment over in her mind as though she could telepathically remind Missy that she could do it again. People like that barely got a flicker of time from Imogen once graduation was over, but hearing these little things from Fallon did make her consider that high school reunion of theirs that wouldn’t be too long away; it would be an interesting evening to say the least if that happened. Meeting her friend’s gaze with a hard stare, Imogen shook her head. “I’ve just moved here and I’m pregnant. My bar consists of about three bottles of wine that I bought out of habit, rather than desire. And they’re staying put. I’ll need something once this is over.” Really, if she hadn’t been pregnant, Imogen would still have been in LA. She would be in the hotel as usual, working a little harder and shrugging off Jack’s questions as to why she wasn’t spending her weekends out with friends like she usually did. She had made a mess of things and baby or not it had been the wake-up call she needed before she did something even more stupid. She may have not cared about her own reputation, but she had heard the family tales; her grandparents and father had worked hard to preserve the good Hamilton name and Imogen would rather run away and face all of this on her own than drag her family down, too, because of her own foolish mistakes. “I don’t think the people in my building have kids. The only people I’ve seen are a few artists and a guy who seems to breathe like Darth Vader.” She didn’t have many neighbours, since the warehouse conversion had only made six larger apartments, but none of the people there seemed to have families of their own. She ought to have kept a tighter lid on her thoughts. Imogen knew Fallon and she ought to have known that the blonde professor would’ve picked up on even the smallest of things that slipped past her lips. Biting her lip, Imogen shrugged like it was no big deal and then pushed herself to her feet, dropping the water bottle into her bag. “Jack can’t protect me from everything.” She said vaguely, flicking her hair from her eyes and continuing down the path they had been on before the morning sickness had forced Imogen to admit to one of her closely guarded secrets. Her big brother had always gone out of his way to make sure that Immy was safe and happy, but this was something he couldn’t fix with a quick cover story to their father. Plus, Imogen never wanted to see the look that she knew would cross her brother’s face if he knew the truth about the father of her unborn child. Fallon grinned, shaking her head. “I’m pretty sure punching that was on everyone’s bucket list, of sorts that year,” she said, knowing without a doubt she wanted to throw a couple punches towards the good for nothing bitch. She’d slept her way through the entire football team, not to mention the basketball team and half the baseball team while her poor boyfriend stayed surprisingly clueless. And Fallon wanted to beat that boy over the head with the smart stick until he bled but she hadn’t done either. One because she’d had a surprising amount of restraint and the other because she must have subconsciously known they were the same; clueless about the ones they were dating.
“Once this is over,” Fallon started using Imogen’s exact words for her pregnancy, “I’ll bring you bottles upon bottles. It’ll be my ‘I’m glad you’ve finally given me a niece or nephew because I’m an only child and I want children that I can give back to spoil’ gift to you,” she finished grinning wickedly. She wasn’t sure where she ultimately stood with having children, but she knew she’d always wished she’d had siblings so she could have a couple little nieces and nephews running around that she could spoil, fill with chocolate and sweets and then give back to their parents while smiling sweetly. It didn’t matter how or why Imogen was in New York, Fallon was just glad that she’d shown up in the East Coast city. “Well, Princess Leia, I wouldn’t suggest being his friend,” she said, making a face at how odd she thought that was. But the city she loved was full of all sorts of people; it took all kinds, after all.
Fallon could see she’d hit a nerve and she really hadn’t meant to. “No, I know,” she said, brushing it away. “Never mind, new topic. Do you know what you’re having? Or is it too soon to tell?” she asked, sipping from the water bottle in her hands. Fallon was already mentally shopping for Imogen’s baby. She was the first person Fallon knew whom she still kept in contact with that was having a baby. She was excited and she wanted to splurge on the little unborn darling. If she ever had a kid of her own, the poor little thing would be spoilt rotten. She could already see it happening.

Imogen’s days of being a teenager were long gone and the young blonde probably had to start moving on from those days and the carefree attitude she had back then. It was a sickening thought, but with how fast time seemed to fly these days, the baby growing inside of her would be walking those corridors and the last thing any mother wanted was for her child to be throwing punches and living the life they had once felt proud of living. Although, Imogen didn’t want any child of hers being walked over either, so maybe one or two of those punches would be necessary. “But I wonder how many actually followed through with that wish.”
She said with a small smile and a twinkle in her green eyes. Arching her eyebrow, Imogen glanced over at her friend with a smirk on her lips. “And when are you going to repay that favour? ‘I want children that I can give back to spoil’.” She said, stealing Fallon’s words to make a point. Out of the pair of them and their recent adventures in life, Fallon was probably the one people would expect to have a baby first; after all the college professor was the one in love and who had the stable and fulfilling relationship. What did Imogen have? Financial stability was pretty much it. “Not unless I want to watch my home planet being destroyed.” Jack had been the Star Wars fan in the family, but Imogen had sat through all the films a few times over the years, mainly when childhood bets had resulted in her losing. One thing at a time; Imogen wasn’t ready to tell the whole story behind her pregnancy. It was one hurdle overcome just by telling Fallon the news, but the rest would have to come in fits and starts. She trusted the blonde woman with her life, but until everything had really sunk in for Imogen she was in no position to start telling everyone else the truth. “Too soon to tell. I still have a good few weeks left before that, but then I don’t know if I want to know.” She hadn’t really given it much thought and since Immy had always imagined kids coming along much later in her life, it was one of the many things that had slipped her mind, but something she probably ought to dedicate some thought to. That year of high school, Fallon had been a pretty quiet person. She made friends but of them she only spoke to Imogen, still. She had kept in touch with a few of them because they had also gone to UCLA with her, but even those friendships had faded when she met Gabe and the rest of the guys. She’d spent one weekend with a group from high school and they were all too stunned that Fallon wasn’t the same girl from high school. Really though, that girl from high school wasn’t the real Fallon. The party girl with her wild ways and her games and pranks was the real Fallon. The guys of Pi Kappa Phi whom she’d only known for a couple of short months knew her better than a group of people she’d known for over a year. “I’m thinking there were a couple people who got to cross that off their lists. She was a crazy bitch,” she said, looking around for small kids. She always felt terrible when she let some word slip and there were kids around that she hadn’t seen. It didn’t help that the parents of those kids stared daggers into Fallon even after she apologised. It was like they had children and forgot that probably only the day before they were saying those exact words.
Fallon smiled at Imogen but she looked away for a minute, just out at the people walking by without actually seeing them and stole a sip of water to keep herself from talking. She had never told anyone before, not even Trevor that she was worried about having kids one day. She worried about ruining them somehow. She figured all women thought that at some point or another, but she worried just a little more. Felicity brought her into the world and then gave her up in the same day. Technically, even before she was born, she was Trevor’s. She wasn’t about to give up her babies if she ever had any but she was afraid that for some reason she would have to leave them, even for a short while and it would somehow mess with their heads or something. She wasn’t about to drop her career in teaching to go back to the studio, but she would always help Trevor however she could and if that meant taking some time away without those kids, she didn’t know what she would do. Thankfully, she didn’t have to worry about that now and she wouldn’t think about it until it came up. “I don’t have the slightest clue,” she said, capping her water bottle again. “But you’ll be the second to know, maybe third depending on who’s around,” she added, teasing.
Fallon made a face, biting her bottom lip. “Oh, sorry, that happens anyway. It’s one of those set in stone things,” she said with a light shrug as if this sort of conversation was routine. “You don’t want to know? How about when you can know, you get them to write it down, put it in an envelope and hold onto it. Or you pass it off to me and I go shopping!” she said, clapping her hands as if this was the perfect plan. “I can drag Devon along and give her a heart attack! Win for me!” She added, laughing at the thought of what the blonde officer would think when Fallon dragged her into the adorable baby boutiques in the city.

There had been a handful of the high school crowd who Imogen had kept in touch with after she had left for Harvard, but most of them had basically turned into party friends who would meet up with her on weekends and then laugh at all the “embarrassing” things they had done. She didn’t know if they thought high school was still on-going for them all or if they believed that their lives were something out of 90210. They craved the gossip and the drama and on more than one occasion Imogen had to bite her tongue to stop herself from reminding them of their age and the fact that they were adults who were all capable of making their own choices. There had been a very good reason why she had kept them as party friends only and had made the move to New York to be closer to Fallon rather than anyone else from back in those days. “And that’s putting it nicely!”
She said, laughing harshly. Imogen had every doubt imaginable spinning through her mind right now and she had had them since the stick had indicated her worst fears at the time. She had panicked, acted on that panic and now found herself facing a whole new world of things she didn’t feel ready to understand. She might’ve been raised in a happy family and wanted for very little, but that didn’t mean she was going to be any good at motherhood. The young blonde didn’t have a clue where to begin or what to do and she was in a new city, technically all alone and with someone already relying on her to do the right thing and make the right choices. “I better be, or else I’ll be telling them all about how you left me in the dark.” She warned, hoping to calm some of her own anxieties that seemed to be on a twenty-four hour loop in her mind. She couldn’t quite believe how excited Fallon seemed to be by the news of her pregnancy. Imogen was still wrapping her head around the whole thing and her friend was planning shopping trips already! Holding her hands up, she gestured for Fallon to slow down, just a little bit. “Whoa, there. I don’t know what I’m doing about anything yet. I’m still getting used to the idea that I’m actually going to have a baby. So, how about we save the wardrobe choices until my kid has a wardrobe.” The room that would soon be the nursery already had everything set up for the necessary DIY, but Imogen had been so busy settling herself in and getting the more urgent parts of her home ready that she simply hadn’t gotten around to sorting it out yet, though she did have a few mental designs already planned out. “And I’m not being an accomplice in anyone’s murder.” She added as an afterthought to what Fallon had said. For Fallon, high school was just another thing she had to experience. She’d done so much already in her young life up until then that it seemed like the next adventure. And it was, in a way. She met Imogen, which was probably the best thing to happen during those months. By the time she’d enrolled, Fallon already knew who she was and what she wanted from life. Being able to do what she did, gave her the time and options to figure it all out. If she’d wanted, she could have finished school well before that senior year; she’d had tutoring hours just like any other kid on set. “If anyone said anything nice about her, they would either be lying or they never actually knew her,” she said, shaking her head and wishing that she’d been left out of the whole high school experience. She had enough crazy divas in her life up until then, she hadn’t wanted to add another into the mix.
Aside from Imogen, Fallon didn’t talk to anyone from their graduating class anymore. She had kept in touch during her time at UCLA because some of them were there, too. But that was the only reason. She had made other friends, better friends; ones she actually wanted to spend time with. The guys she knew from the Frat house were the ones she called brothers just as much as they called each other that, because she’d been around them enough that it seemed only right. Fallon was pretty sure if any of them ever found out she was pregnant there would be gasps before the cheers. She’d been such a party girl in college, still was, that the news of the tiny blonde that could drink half those boys under the table was pregnant would be shocking. And then of course, because they’re a bunch of guys, there would be cheers and even more hazing rituals of some sort for Gabe; because she was thinking about Gabe when these thoughts were around. She didn’t want anyone else, and the idea of not having Gabe in her life terrified her more than death or being face to face with the woman who gave her up. “I’m just full of suspenseful moments, who really knows when I’ll tell you, or how,” she said teasing though Imogen had been like a sister to her that she would be one of the first calls Fallon made. Since senior year, she was. “Maybe I’ll buy you a cheesy t-shirt that says “Proud Auntie”, or a mug,” she added, laughing at the idea.
Fallon knew she could get away from herself. It was a terrible habit and one she actually enjoyed. Her imagination was endless and far too childlike sometimes, but that was what she loved about film and herself. But it also meant that her mind would run off further than it should when no one was ready for it. Hell, she didn’t even want to think about how many different scenarios were going through her head when she and Gabe first got together, and then again when things fell apart. She was still going through the “should have done this differently” phase. Even though it was done and over with and it all worked out in the end; it wouldn’t always. “Sorry! You know me, I just jump ahead of everything,” Fallon said with an apologetic smile.
“I would have to ask her, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be considered murder there, Immy,” Fallon said, grinning. “A premeditated prank gone awry, but not murder, besides, I’m pretty sure it would be like accidental suicide if anything. I didn’t go into it planning for her to have a heart attack after all,” she continued as if it had already happened. Fallon did that a lot when she was reading through a script or helping to change one for the better when Trevor asked her to. She had to get into the mindset of a particular character to see how they would see the situation, feel how she thought they would. It was, for her, the better part of her very part time job for the studio. And it was made even better when she could talk Gabe or well, anyone into running the new lines with her.

Imogen had found her sarcastic side during the four years of high school. She had arrived in the shadow of her older brother and didn’t envy him one bit for what he had already achieved. What did get annoying very quickly was the amount of girls in her class who would practically swoon over him and try to weasel an invitation to Imogen’s house from the young blonde girl, purely so they could ogle at him more. Imogen had quickly lost all respect for those girls and not just because Jack was her brother, but because they was so much to high school and growing up than finding the perfect boyfriend. She hadn’t been spared heartbreak and even now it seemed to haunt her ten years later. “Or she had played her usual hand of empty promises. I still remember when she claimed that Jake Gyllenhaal knew her dad and she had had dinner with him and could get him to come to her party. The poor man was at the hotel eating his dinner – alone – on the night she claimed it.”
Imogen didn’t have a list of celebrity friends, but the ones who were frequent guests at her family hotel were acquaintances and there had been a few LA parties over the years. However, the last thing Imogen ever did was flaunt such facts. Hell, most of the time she had only ever spoken to Fallon about it because there was a crossing of interest giving their families and their professions. Keeping in touch with people had simply faded away. Everyone had been busy and phone calls went unreturned eventually. Fallon had only been the real one to make an effort and Imogen the same on her Harvard end. She had figured that people would come crawling back out of the woodwork once she returned to LA, which they did, but now Fallon literally was the only person from her past who knew that she was in New York. Many had changed, several were annoying and the rest seemed to be so self-involved that Imogen was more than content to hide behind a reception desk with Jack and annoy him than attend a brunch with some of the old girls. “It’ll have to be a large t-shirt if it’s any time soon.” Imogen mumbled, adjusting her jeans. She wasn’t showing, yet, but there was definitely a stretch on the denim material that she could feel now that they had been sitting down for a while. “I think it’s catching.” Imogen said with a soft smirk. She might not have been thinking ahead about the baby, but that was only because she was still processing the information and working through the lists of things that she needed to organise before she was officially a mommy. That didn’t mean she hadn’t rushed ahead of herself recently. The second she had heard the news she had been planning an escape plan and rushing through all the necessary measures to pretty much vanish. She knew Jack and her parents were probably freaking out, but whenever she thought about them she replaced the thoughts with whatever to-do list had been occupying her mind most recently. It had been decorating and furnishing her new home, making her place in New York a permanent one with doctors and banks, and now she was thinking about the order she ought to invest in a maternity wardrobe and just how many outfits she might need. She might not be rushing into baby details, but everything else kept her thoughts from falling silent. Shooting Fallon a look, Imogen then rolled her eyes. “I don’t really think your friend wants to die at all. Surely there are better ways of helping her than accidentally planning her death?” She had no idea who they were talking about, but it sounded confusing and just like the old Hollywood conversations the girls used to have. Fallon didn’t intentionally bring up her family history or profession. It came up more than she would have liked since the studio was still a big part of her life. Even when she thought she’d left it behind, there was a call or a text and she was right back in there. Plus, practically running the New York office gave her the opportunity to show her students firsthand what it was like to be in the industry. She often found herself frustrated with the interruptions that she ranted to too many of her friends. But for the most part, she joked about what she had to do and dragged her friends along when they were interested but if the studio wasn’t such a big part of her life, she wouldn’t mention it at all. “She did that a lot if I remember correctly,” Fallon said with a shake of her head.
“I doubt it’ll be any time soon but I’ll keep that in mind,” Fallon said smiling. Things with her and Gabe were just getting started, or settling down depending on which way it was looked at in light of everything. Right now Fallon was too wrapped up in trying not to screw things up again to consider that talk with Gabe. Not that the thought had actually crossed her mind. She had always been too worried to turn out like her mother to consider kids. And now with Gabe, and it being a possibility eventually, she was terrified. She had no doubt Gabe would be a wonderful father but she didn’t know about herself. “Any help at all, you know how to get in touch. I prefer carrier pigeons as you might remember,” Fallon said chuckling softly. Fallon was the type to spoil her friends. She didn’t have any siblings to spoil or children or nieces and nephews. So it was left to herself and her friends. And as much as she would deny saying it, there were only so many pairs of shoes a girl could own.
Fallon couldn’t help but laugh at her friend’s look. “I’ve tried talking her into asking a co-worker out but sadly, she just won’t do it. Shame, too. He’s hot,” Fallon said with a sigh as though it were just too bad she hadn’t met him first. That was hardly the case, of course, she was head over heels for Gabe but she could joke about it. Shaking her head, Fallon shrugged. “So, where do you want to go? There’s only so much fresh air a girl can take,” the blonde professor joked, rolling her eyes. The city was big, there was plenty for them to do.

Imogen had never really thought that any part of her life was something to make a big deal about. She had grown up with the luxury hotels and the famous names that came through the doors. Some of her earliest memories were running around in the large lobby and annoying the doorman with silly games that she and Jack would invent. It was why she often rolled her eyes and turned her nose up at glossy gossip magazines and celebrity rumours; she didn’t look at them any differently than she did anyone else, so she didn’t understand the fuss that the media made over every little thing they could possibly do. “I stopped keeping count and correcting her. Too much hard work and I had better things to be doing.”
Imogen said in a bored fashion, waving her hand as though it would remove the memories, too. The girl had really been nothing but trouble throughout high school and always seemed to have to have something better than whatever the person before had said or done. “And you think this was supposed to happen anytime soon?” Imogen asked, hiding her smirk barely as her hand came to rest over her stomach. For now, she could just fit into her usual clothes, but another week or two and she’d definitely be swapping most of her favourites for whatever she could find in maternity wear. She hadn’t gotten around to that shopping yet, not really. She had been too overwhelmed by the shocking news to worry about her wardrobe. It was just a thought that fluttered through her mind each time she pulled something out of the walk-in closet or caught sight of herself in the full length bedroom mirror. “You’re going to regret saying that because I need a lot of things and you’re at the top of the list for each of them.” A smirk danced across her glossed lips and a light sparkle appeared in her olive eyes. Most of the ‘help’ wouldn’t be until much later in the pregnancy or until after the birth, but she still only knew Fallon in the city. Shaking her head, Imogen sighed and then looked at Fallon with a grin on her face. “Maybe the right moment will present itself and she’ll take your advice.” Imogen suggested, wishing her troubles could be so light hearted. Imogen took a moment to think their options over before shrugging and glancing around. “When all else fails shop? I have no idea. My head is on a continuous shopping list cycle; nothing else can get in.” She confessed, shaking her head and letting the blonde locks fall back into her face. It still didn’t empty her mind of the bullet point thoughts, though. [/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • TAGGED! Fallon <3 WORDS! 498 OUTFIT! Fashionable Mess LYRICS! When graduation came around and they had to say goodbye for a while, Fallon had missed Imogen. She was the only person in high school that hadn’t cared who her uncle was or tried to be her best friend because of her last name. She understood where Fallon was coming from because she had similar issues. She would admit, there were times when she got messages and life had been to hectic at the time to return a call or reply to an email and then it went completely forgotten until something stirred the memory and she was apologising for being a horrible person and forgetting to get back sooner. Aside from meeting Imogen and her brother, Fallon almost wished she had never left her life so completely behind for that year. “There were a few times she made me wish I never left Trev on the road,” she said rolling her eyes. When she’d been growing up, the people around here were just that, people. She didn’t care if the rest of the world saw them as these huge stars, or faces to cover gossip rags. These people were her friends in the short amount of time she got to spend with them, and some were as close as family.
Fallon made a face, before smoothing it out again and laughing. “Good point. I promise you’ll be one of my first calls,” she teased with a big grin, unable to let it go. Fallon had never had a mother growing up, she had women around her to teach her and show her things but there had never been a constant. There were a few times when Trevor brought home a lady friend and Fallon thought, maybe but those relationships had never lasted as long as Fallon had hoped; not for her but for Trevor. He deserved to be happy. But because she didn’t have a mother growing up, she didn’t know if she could ever be one. That was what scared her most about the future with Gabe and children. She didn’t want to screw up another person as much as she was screwed up. It made her wonder sometimes when her mind wander to children with Gabe, what exactly he saw in her. She was a mess in a pretty dress and heels. “I don’t mind at all,” Fallon said honestly, smiling. She tried not to turn down her friends when they needed her help and Imogen was family; she couldn’t say no to family.
Fallon laughed at their oddball conversation and could only think that she’d missed these stupid time killing conversations. There had been a point, she knew to her bringing Devon into the conversation but for the life of her, she couldn’t remember what it was anymore. And that was okay because it really didn’t matter anyway. “Fingers crossed,” She said, rolling her eyes. Fallon nodded her head, linking her arm with Imogen’s as she directed them through tourist crowds of Central Park. “So, what’s on your shopping list that we can get done now?” she asked, finding the closest entrance to the park and stepping out on the bustling city streets of New York.
