The night ended all too quick for Madalina Lupescu, the tiny dancer of N.Y.U. As she stretched out her body, getting ready to prepare herself for the day to begin, she thought about yesterdays events, and she wondered about what would happen with todays events. She was nervous about seeing Tanner again. She didn't know what to think about him. Right away she felt that he was hot headed. He just put her in the prima-donna stereotype right away, without even really talking to her, and she knew that he hadn't listened to a word she had said. She blew out a long sigh and rolled her eyes. "Fine, if he just wants me to stand there and say nothing, so be it!" She shifted her eyes to look at herself in her long mirror. She put her hand on her head and then shook it. "I don't know why I even care, I don't even know him, so I shouldn't let him affect me." She nodded to herself and then looked away, her subconcious kicking. 'He is kind of cute, in that dorky artsy way' Maddie stopped in her tracks. "First of all, he isn't dorky, and he certainly isn't cute." She blew out a sigh and yelled to herself, hoping her sister wasn't home. "Who am I kidding?!" She growled at herself and looked at the time, her eyes widening slightly. She threw open her closet door and jumped in an outfit, did her hair and make up and raced out the door.
She arrived to school just in time. She rushed into the classroom, threw her bags down and sat, waiting for the english teacher. He took a long time to get to class, but she sat patiently, she still felt pleased because she had been on time. She hated being late. After the lecture she left, and headed to her next class. The time ticked slowly by and she felt herself doze off into a day dream. She was dancing in a feild of lovely, unknown white flowers, and Tanner was there, wait.. 'Why am I day dreaming about Tanner?!' She jumped back into reality and shook her head. 'What the hell was that about?' She blew out a long breath. Okay, it was basically the first male she'd ever talked to, and wanted to be friends with, but day dreaming about him? Now that was becoming to extreme. She rolled her eyes and as the bell rang for lunch, she got up quickly and ran into the dining hall.
The cafeteria was packed with people. She got here so quickly, but everyone else got there first? She never understood it. She looked around to see if she knew anyone there, specifically, Tanner, but she didn't see him. 'There you go again! Stop it!!' She yelled at her sub-concious for making her think that he was cute, and now making her look for him. She noticed the table of her fellow classmates, but she didn't dare go over there. She was not in the mood for the headaches those girls and the couple boys brought. They talked all day about clothes, and shopping, and things that had nothing to do with their ballet, or anything else. They were the ture prima-donna's. She didn't want to be like them, she prefered actual conversation about things that mattered to her, things about ballet, and her career, and about the world.
She watched as they noticed her staring, neither of them cracked a smile or waved, no, they just glared at her and went back to their normal conversation. The girls tried to be friendly at first, not thinking that she could dance with such emotion, but it wasn't long before they stopped talking to her, and made snarky comments about her being anorexic and random things that Maddie certainly was not. She sighed and went to the cafeteria lady. She ordered a chicken ceaser wrap, an orange, and a bottle of orange juice. She took her food and made her way to a distant table from those of her classmates. The table was empty besides her so she figured everyone thought she was a social outcast, and they'd kindof be right, but she didn't mind, she was happy just being her.

Tanner usually didn't work with people on his artwork. It was why he was an artist; he loved the independence and personal freedom of painting, sketching, and just working his creative magic. Even when the professor assigned group projects, he hated collaborating with the other students; it just didn't go well. He liked being able to decide for himself and not have others shooting it down or trying to alter his idea into something of their own. The group work was one of the low points about college, and he knew that he'd survive, but he'd always prefer his independent studio to that of the campus.
This arrangement with the dancer girl was odd for him, and he knew it well. He needed her to dance though; a thing that he hated to say outloud. Needing a girl for anything did not sit well in his mind, especially when the girl was one of the dance majors who more often than not turned their nose up at anyone with paint splattered on their clothes. But, for this big project to turn out decent, he'd have to man up and play along with whatever rules she decided to come up with. All he wanted was for her to dance around in one of those tight jumpsuit costumes they wore; the rest he could do by himself.
They were meeting up for dinner on campus, an arrangement that had him more relaxed. At least it wouldn't seem so much like a date then; it'd be them eating and hopefully discussing the task at hand before getting down to business. He'd no doubt get some jeers from his friends the next day for hanging out with her, but it'd be worth it; passing his class would definitely be worth it.
He finished up his last lecture for the day and headed towards the dining hall, portfolio under one arm and his bag slung across the other like always. Tanner pushed through the dining hall doors and searched the crowd for his companion in this, hoping he'd be able to set his things down before grabbing his food. There'd already been one incident with a spilled meal thanks to his boxy and awkward portfolio. He found her at a table by herself, sighing with relief that she was already here as he went over to her. "Hey, Maddie. You mind watching this while I go grab some dinner?" he asked straight off after he reached the table, meeting her eyes with his light ones as he waited for an answer.
