Emm was busy, rushing about her one bed roomed apartment rushing to get herself dressed she was already running five minutes late for work and one thing she hated was being late. She was normally a punctual time keeper, but the night before she had been out on the town painting it red, so to speak and this morning when her alarm rang out at five am to wake her. She simply rolled over, knocking the alarm clock to the floor and fell back asleep.
So now she was zipping up a little black dress, and slinking her feet into her shoes while brushing her hair. Multy tasking was a woman's forte, but now she was left wondering where her bag was. Everything she needed to make her day to day life, run smoothly was inside this black leather bag, with silver studs.
She quickly fastened her hair up into a chiffon bun and was now on her hands and knees, looking under her bed for this bag that contained her cellphone and her keys and her purse with all her credit cards in it. She sighed and rummaged under the bed, with her arm stretched out and finally she felt the soft leather handle and pulled it out from the darkness.
She got onto her knees and dipped into the bag, looking to make sure there was everything she needed inside the bag and then stood. Smiling to herself, somewhat pleased and satisfied that she had found it. Looking down at her wrist she realized she wasn't wearing any jewelry and ran a few steps to her dresser, found her bracelet, earrings and her watch then headed for the door.
She zoomed out of the apartment, slamming the door shut behind her and headed down the hallway to the lift and got inside. Pressing the ground floor button she waited for it to come to a standstill and then ran through the foyer of the apartment block and ran out onto the street.
Lifting her hand to her face, sliding two fingers into her crimson painted lips she whistled and hailed herself a taxi. Once inside the cab she told the driver to get to Tiffany's full speed, and if he got her there in less than ten minutes she would give him a nice tip. So he sped through the streets of New York and got her there in nine minutes. She thanked him and payed him handsomely then ran into her work place.
Thankfully it was another employee's job to open up the store today, so she wasn't noticed slinking by through the store and headed up to her office. Throwing herself into the leather computer chair, she spun a little which made her feel sick. She slumped forward onto the desk her head resting on her forearms and sat there a while, breathing heavily composing herself before she went about her work duties.
She checked her emails once she had composed herself and nothing came up of importance, so now she needed a coffee and decided to head out to the cafe and grab herself some breakfast. It was just gone nine am, which meant the morning rush would soon be here, which possibly would mean a few issues could arise for the general manager. She grabbed her bag and headed out to the cafeteria and ordered herself a large coffee and a sticky bun.
Not the ideal breakfast choice, but a sugar rush was needed to curb her hangover.
