KC hadn’t been able to tell the truth about her hobbies growing up. Her mother, for all her insane antics, wouldn’t allow her girls to do anything extreme. They were local sports, music lessons, and dance classes. And even then it wasn’t their mother who took KC to her classes; it was her father. She’d just gotten along better with her dad than her mother. She could tell him anything, still did. He was the one that snuck her to the rock climbing gym, the zip lines. He was the one that secretly took her to the desert for rocking climbing, abseiling, camping. And he kept her secrets, too. She hadn’t thought so far ahead to when she’d have to tone down or worse, break it to her mother what she’d been up to since she was still just a little girl. “Oh, if you were that perfect, I wouldn’t be here,” she said, smirking. “Perfect’s no fun at all,” she added as her smirk turned into a big grin. He was teasing just as she was, but that didn’t stop her words from being the truth. If she could use the word perfect to describe anyone, there was probably something amiss. Everyone had quirks and traits, some of which drove KC oddly crazy.
It was the best way to get KC to do something she didn’t want to do; tickling her. Her sister’s knew that too well and they were relentless in using her ticklish sides to their advantage. “Or you could forget it, Lex, and let this Super girl live in blissful illusions,” she said, giggling. Not telling people about her sisters wasn’t something she did on purpose. It was just that they popped up in all sorts of her conversations that coming right out and stating the obvious seemed kind of pointless; even if no one knew she even had siblings, or that they were all the same age. She started to open her mouth to make some smart ass remark when Dawson grabbed her, trapping her against him. She let out a shocked girlish squeal. She tried to hit him, but her hands were pinned and she had no use of them whatsoever; she was stuck and wanted to laugh at it. But she couldn’t. She bit her lips, leaning just a bit closer. “Who said I wanted to go anywhere?” she asked, her voice just barely a whisper.
She felt like everything was over far too soon. Before she could blink, it felt like her feet were expertly touching the ground. This was only stop one, Dawson had said so earlier and after that, KC wasn’t sure how the night could get better. But she figured Dawson wouldn’t play his ace the first round. Feet flat, she glanced over at her date grinning; she’d loved it more than words could say. KC started undoing the harness. She hadn’t felt that great since she took the weekend in Upstate New York with an instructor but that had been nearly six months before. She hadn’t been able to sneak away for the weekend since then because of her sisters. KC looked back at Dawson that smile still on her face. “That was amazing,” she said a little breathlessly. “I’ve never abseiled in the city before. It was incredible,” she said, basically admitting to her little secret and not caring about it.

Dawson knew that his mother would’ve preferred it if Dawson just took up soccer or hockey and drew a line under hobbies at that point in his life. When Viola was growing up and becoming more influenced by her two older brothers, Dawson had been told to keep his wild side toned down out of the fear that the only Naylor daughter would try to follow in his steps and wind up seriously injured. The only reason Dawson got away with so much of it was because it became an outlet for the young mathematician and because he took safety precautions every single time he pulled off one of his stunts. He didn’t want to get hurt and his mom’s warnings were not necessary to keep that statement true! Viola obviously found out about her brother’s antics, but she showed little interest in copying any of them. She was far more interested in makeup and boys than she was in jumping off cliffs and scaling walls or trees. “Well, I’m definitely fun!”
He said with a charismatic grin and his usual wink. Dawson came across as a guy who didn’t talk about his past much. It wasn’t that he did it on purpose or anything; it was just the way it always seemed to work out when he was around others. He wasn’t a boastful guy and he didn’t like to talk about himself when it wasn’t necessary, which was most of the time. He’d give people an honest answer if they asked, but it wasn’t very often that people questioned his life before New York. Chuckling, he leaned closer to KC’s ear, his breath washing over her neck. “I better be in those blissful illusions of yours.” He whispered, staying close to her for a moment longer before he pulled his head back again, smirking once more. Her words made his smirk widen and he pulled her a little closer, his nose almost touching hers as his eyes flickered to her lips. No, later. Smirking again, he let her go and stepped away. “Unfortunately for you, we have several places to be.” He said, throwing his arm over her shoulders once more. He grinned at her eager response to the event, and took on the notice the implied suggestion that she had abseiled before. It really should’ve have surprised him considering how keen she had been when he had first told her about his hobbies/ Shooting her a teasing gaze he left the subject alone for now; he was excited to see her reaction to the next thing he had planned for the evening. “Not many people have or do. It seems to be something that just doesn’t dawn on them as a possibility.” He said, letting out a soft sigh. He was kind of glad that not everyone did the same sort of active hobbies as he and his friends did, but sometimes he wished more people would give them a chance once in a while, just for the experience. “Well, are you ready for the second adventure of our night? We can walk from here to it.” The third and final activity would take place a little outside of the city, but their next stop was just a block away and Dawson hated being a wasteful driver. He stretched out his arm and wiggled his fingers in her direction for her hand and smirked, pointing down the street in the direction they were heading next. KC rolled her eyes at Dawson’s comment. It was true though. After all, how many guys out there would really interrupt a lecture to serenade a girl just to ask for their number and an actual date? KC figured Dawson was the only one brave enough to do it. And she was insanely happy that of all the girls in the school, she’d caught his eye. She’d been nervous after that, freaking out over absolutely nothing. And it had taken both of her sisters to metaphorically beat her head against the fridge to see it. Of course once they helped her to see she was being stupid, she was excited for this night to come; ideas and scenarios running through her mind about what would be in store for the evening. She didn’t think it would be your everyday, average run-of-the-mill date nights, but she also hadn’t expected what she’d gotten so far either. After all, who tells their date they’re not allowed to step foot on any stairs they happen to come across?
Just an inch. All she had to do was move her head a fraction of an inch to the side and there wouldn’t be any more talking. But she held herself in check. There was, apparently, too much to do to stop the elevator for a few minutes. Her breath caught in her throat as she opened her mouth and it took her an extra second to make sure she wouldn’t squeak. “I think that may be too soon to tell. The night’s still young,” she said with a dark glimmer in her eye as he pulled away. They were not going to get through part one of this date if they didn’t stop putting themselves inches away from kissing! The breath she let out when Dawson stepped back was a mix of relief and disappointment that he moved away. “Several? You certainly go all out to impress a girl, don’t ya?” she asked, teasing him.
KC loved abseiling; she loved anything that could get her heart pumping a little faster. Of course her usual surroundings were far from steel and glass and that alone made it so much better than anything she’d done before. She felt like she just couldn’t stop gushing about the experience. If she knew it wouldn’t give her father a heart attack, she’d call him the first chance she got to tell him about it. He had always been the only one she could ever tell her adventures to, because half the time, he’d been right there with her. If he hadn’t been rock climbing with her, he was on the ground, making sure nothing went wrong from there. She shook her head, smiling. “It wouldn’t be special if everyone knew about it or did it,” she said, honestly. Laughing happily, she accepted his outstretched hand and falling into step beside her date. “How many adventures have you planned for tonight, Dawson?” she asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

When Dawson planned something he didn’t keep it low key or modest. In life, he was loud and extreme and that was exactly how he loved everything else to be too. Anyone could take a girl to dinner, buy her flowers and end the night dancing; he wanted to be memorable, even when that girl was eighty nine years of age in a nursing home constantly reliving the good old days as she told tales to her grandkids. His date with KC had to be incredible and something that would make her want to go out with him again. He was feeling optimistic at this point and if his plans worked out how he hoped they would, then Dawson had a feeling he would be in with a good chance of seeing her again.
His arms wrapped tightly around her for a second longer, a flirtatious and impious smirk crossing his lips and dancing in his eyes. “And it is far from over, doll.”
He promised, hoping that by the time the date concluded they were racing with the dawn to get KC home. New York could be magical at night and he saw so many sights that people didn’t even care to think about or imagine; being a lover of extreme sports really did have its perks and Dawson loved having the chance to share them with KC on this beautiful spring night. He turned to look at her and grinned a toothy smile. “Why waste a night with just one thing when we could do plenty?” He questioned. It had been hard enough to narrow down the list of activities for this date. There was so much that he wanted to show her, to make her try something new and amazing for the first time…he’d spent a lot of time since she agreed to this date just getting it all arranged and pulling favours with his friends usually came at a costly price and he was waiting for the phone call from them that would whisk him out of town to some extremist competition or pull him from his bed to help organise a date for another of the guys. This was the first time Dawson had done a date quite like this, but his friends were not unfamiliar with the concept of it. For Dawson, the heart racing, adrenaline inducing sports were some of the greatest ways to let off steam after a stressful day and they had yet to fail when it came to putting a grin on his face. He was probably a little shocked that he had sustained many worse injuries than bruises and a sprained ankle, but that was a risk he believed was worth taking for the amazing, euphoric feeling he had yet to find a match for. Their next destination would require a little more patience and care than the abseiling adventure, but he had an incline that KC would enjoy it based on a previous conversation of theirs from the day they had met at the ice rink. “There are three activities planned and then, if you’re hungry, we can grab a bite to eat.” He knew a couple of all-night diners in the city where he often grabbed a meal after a late shift at work or long night with the adrenaline junkies he knew so well. He led her down the street, up the next block and grinned when he saw the next building on their adventurous date. Inside, he grinned to the cleaning lady and strode confidently through the double doors. There would be no one here to greet them this time, but he had called in a favour with a friend again and despite it being after lock up time, so long as Dawson shelved all responsibility for what happened, it would be their little secret. Opening another set of doors, he pulled KC into a large, unlit room. “Now this is the start of what can be an incredible adventure.” He told her cryptically as he sought out the light switch, quickly filling the room with florescent lighting. The room resembled an obstacle course of sorts with different levels, platforms and structures all around the place. Safety mats and padding adorned the floor and a few of the walls, just as a precaution. “I remember a gorgeous girl once telling me she wanted to give parkour a shot, but didn’t know where to begin. Well, this would be that starting point.” He grinned, lifting a duffle bag up from the ground and tossing it on a bench to open in. “Your clothes are alright for this, but I asked one of the girls to throw in some spare jogging bottoms and free running shoes, just in case you wanted to be a little comfier or freer.” He told her as he straightened up, gesturing to the duffle of mixed sizes. Dawson was an expert as this, but his own jogging pants were folded over his arms ready; the last thing he wanted was to get carried away and split his jeans. KC had lived this part of her life in shadows for so long that it was a little weird for her to have someone know about this part of her even a little bit. She’d kept her sisters in the dark on how dangerous her stunts could really be, she kept them out of the loop for most of the stunts she pulled period. She didn’t want them worrying about her and since she was really careful, followed the rules and knew how far she could push herself, she knew she wasn't in as much danger as the activities she participated in could be. Besides, she was the oldest of the three and despite being treated like the youngest; it was her job to watch over her sisters, make sure everything with them was alright. But it was a sore spot for her since she hadn’t been entirely aware of how Tabs had been treated in high school. KC had always been so proud of her younger sister for her fashion sense. And then right after high school, she moved to California and everything seemed to come out. She’d felt bad, not knowing at the time but now she tried to make up for it. And keeping her stuff to herself was her start at it all.
If it wouldn’t have been too complicated, KC might even have kept Dawson to herself for a bit longer. But that was definitely out of the question now and really, it was one less thing to keep to herself. She quirked a brow at Dawson at his words. “Far from over, huh,” she repeated, shaking her head. “Bring it on,” she added barely a second later. She was all for fun and excitement. She shrugged her shoulder, agreeing with him. The night was young and he clearly spent a lot of time thinking up what he wanted her to see of the city. She couldn’t deny that she wasn’t enjoying herself so far. His words made her feel like the night was going to be a long, very memorable one. And so far, her feeling was right. “Why do I feel like it’ll be noon before I walk through the door again?” she asked, teasing. KC didn’t think she’d mind in the least if that was how the night turned out. Her sisters would worry like crazy, but she was the oldest, wasn’t she? She didn’t have to explain anything, though she would spill this detail and that one to keep them informed. “After all of that, I think I may be starving,” she said, laughing.
But she was excited; nervous excited. She didn’t know what was coming next and she liked that. It got her heart and her mind racing to come up with all the things they could be doing next. The adventurous blonde had never seen this neighbourhood before, but had the feeling that if she had, she wouldn’t have known the secrets the buildings held. The last one looked as though it was a normal building, and yet the inside had been full of her favourite activities. She didn’t know what this one held, but she was ready to find out. She followed him through the building, keeping a solid grip on his hand when they stopped in a completely black room. Nerves started humming all throughout her body, she didn’t know what to expect. And then Dawson found the light switch and KC had to close her eyes for a second against the sudden bright light. It took her a second for her eyes to adjust but when they did, her blue eyes went wide and she whipped her head around to look at Dawson so fast she felt she may have whiplash. KC’s grin was much like the one from earlier, and she found herself feeling a minor sense of déjà vu, like she’d done that routine earlier. “This girl must have quite the adrenaline streak in her,” she said, tearing her eyes away from her ginger hair date to the room around the pair.
She’d never seen anything like it. Pieces she recognized from gymnastics, but very few. She shrugged again, stepping forward to pick through the pants in the bag. Normally, for these kinds of pants, the baggier the better, but in this case, she figured picking a pair in her actual size would be best and went to work finding exactly that. “That’s probably a good idea. I’ve never done this before and I have a feeling I’ll be needing my jeans for our next event,” she said, pulling out the right size. She turned to him smiling, holding up the new pants. “Change rooms?” she asked, not really caring at this point if she had to change in a corner. She was far too excited to be out on the mats, climbing and falling after she slipped, which was bound to happen once or twice, even with her training.

For Dawson, his adrenaline junkie lifestyle had been more than a way of keeping fit. It was hard as a kid being dyslexic and not understanding everything so easy as the rest of the kids in his class. Sports became an outlet and as he grew up he simply expanded from hockey and skateboarding until he was making his mom worry every time he left the house with his friends. She didn’t understand the appeal behind most of what her son got up to, but he had yet to come home with his limbs hanging off and there were never any phone calls from the emergency room so she let it slide now with a shake of her head. Dawson still didn’t tell her everything though; she didn’t need to worry about her son running wild in New York.
He knew it was late, but he hadn’t been able to resist when planning this date and if KC needed to go or be up early then he would postpone it all with a smile, even though he was stupidly excited for tonight and everything it had to offer. It was the first time he’d really been able to give anyone a glimpse into his world, knowing they probably wouldn’t pull a face, call him stupid and roll their eyes. He knew that this sort of thing wasn’t for everyone and he didn’t try and convert those without an interest, but KC had already mentioned her interest in Parkour, so he didn’t see the harm. “I’m a night owl.”
He joked with a terrible hoot. He really did spend little time sleeping unless he was sick or it was a Sunday after a night out with his friends. A good six hours was usually more than plenty for him, which was why if tonight ran on to the early morning, he wouldn’t care at all, so long as KC was happy and having a good time. “Not noon; 11:59 maybe, but not noon.” He teased with that grin he was having a hard time keeping off his face. Unless she got carried away in here and wanted to stay longer, they should be home at a reasonable time for two college kids on a curfew-less date. “I’d be surprised if you weren’t. Adrenaline rushes always leave me starving for a slice.” He told her honestly, mentally recounting all the times he had been in a diner with his friends, torn clothes, blood and dirt stains and someone probably needing a doctor, but food came before anything else. He studied her reaction, his smile widening at her obvious excitement. He was afraid it would turn out that she wanted to try it, but not tonight and then the whole idea would be a bit of a waste. The red head wanted to let out a bit of energy on the course set up anyway, so it was a win-win for both of them. “Apparently she does. Though, she doesn’t make it all that easy to get a date from her.” He joked, hinting about his performance in the middle of her class that afternoon. He did not regret it one bit so far and his friends might have laughed at the extent he went to for a first date, but it was turning out to be damn well worth it! At her question, Dawson paused before searching in the depths of his jeans pockets. He pulled out his keys and flicked through them, all the while chatting. “I help my friend teach beginner classes here on weekends.” He explained, providing an answer to an unasked question. “Asking him to be on time is like asking for a rainstorm in the desert. So, I carry the keys.” He smiled as he found it and stepped across the room to a small door, unlocking it to reveal more of a storage closet than a changing room. “Will this do? The actual locker rooms are down the hall as more of an every sport thing.” He told her, waving it all away with his hands as one of those things. They only set this hall up an hour before they held the class. Whilst she was in the closet, Dawson shimmied into his own jogging pants and dumped his jeans on a bench, stretching out his arms before taking off in a fast run at the nearest obstacle. He had energy to burn and figured it might be better to get some of it out of his system before showing KC the ropes. He side flipped over a low frame jumping tool and quickly jumped up to grab onto one of the beams, pulling himself up before launching himself back the way he came but arching up over one of the bigger safety mats before tumble rolling out and trying a new wall run jump to the rope which he used to swing towards platform set which he felt the need to somersault off from, landing neatly and a little breathless. Being Dawson though, he checked his hair was still in place and turned around to see if KC was back in the room and ready yet. [/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • TAGGED!KC! Extreme sports became KC outlet, like most peoples, because of other failings in her life. She felt like her mother hated her for being blonde, maybe, for being the only real daddy’s girl of the three girls. She honestly didn’t know, but there was just too many snide comments and remarks. And, naturally, KC couldn’t just yell at her mother, talk back and make her mother feel as crappy as she made KC feel. So, she refocused it all into other outlets. First it was regular sports, dance classes and music lessons. Then, when she was older, she added in some different, off the beaten path sports like rock climbing. Eventually she found rock climbing and abseiling in the deserts outside Phoenix with her father. He’d always kept her secret while trying to get her to see her mother in a different light. It never worked, but he’d never really thought it would. Still, her father wouldn’t hear about this night from KC herself. And her sisters’ were good with not telling their parents what she was up to because of the torment the eldest went through growing up. Tabs got the trouble at school, and KC got it at home. Em was the only one that really got out of Arizona without the mental scars her sisters’ had.
Still, KC turned out all right, despite the troubles; she was carefree, happy girl who learned to live for herself and no one else. The blonde film student laughed, rolling her eyes. “Please leave the hooting to the owls,” she teased, amused. Thankfully, this was usually the time she was curled up in a comfortable chair, working on her film edits, or sitting at the kitchen island, with a snack or drink working on her films; either way, she’d still be up working until well into the wee hours of the night. She made certain her classes were late morning at the earliest and so far had only had a single class so early she was still comatose during the three hours it ran. KC rolled her eyes and laughed. “Oh, well, in that case, it’s perfectly acceptable!” Her sisters were going to interrogate her until she was blue in the face and went through every single second of the night. Sometimes she wondered what it would be like to live alone. She wouldn’t have anyone to answer to and as long as she called her siblings and father at least once a day, she would be left alone to do what she pleased. Maybe Tabs had the right idea running off right after high school. KC nodded, understanding that. Whenever she’d get back into Phoenix after some sport or another in the desert, she was starving and always made her dad stop at the first place they came across. It was a wonder the blonde was as tiny as she was with the way she ate!
KC hadn’t thought it would get any better than abseiling in the city, and then Dawson sprang an indoor, completely empty Parkour set up on her and she really wanted to get out on that track and see if she could do anything. Her blue eyes lit up with amusement. When she’d finally gotten verbally slapped by Emerson, she could admit she had loved that Dawson showed up and put on that whole show just for her attention. “Maybe she just enjoyed the entertainment portion of the afternoon. It’s not every day a girl gets serenaded in front of her entire class, you know,” she said, grinning and dancing from foot to foot, excited to get out on the course and try it all out for herself. “Lucky me that you know so many people,” she said, smiling, following Dawson across the room. “Perfect,” she said, slipping past him and shutting the door to the storage closet behind her, leaving it open just a bit for some light. She changed quickly, nearly falling only once in the dim light. Her hand flew out and she hit a broom or mop handle before righting herself and bursting out in laughter. Dressed, KC folded her jeans up and carried them out, setting them down just by the door and checking her pockets for anything that would get in the way. She tossed her phone down before standing at the edge of the course to watch Dawson. Smirking, she rolled her eyes when he seemed to be done his warm up routine. When he turned around, she clapped, impressed with it all. “Are you going to teach me some of that?” she asked, dropping her hands to her hips.

Whilst he hadn’t really looked for someone, it was difficult to find a person who could keep up with Dawson’s lifestyle. Romantic interests in the past hadn’t been interested in his hobbies or they had worried too much and broke it off. There were even a few who found him to be childish, acting as though he was running around the city pretending to be a superhero with his Parkour friends and lifestyle. Dawson didn’t see it anything like that at all, but he was young and there would be plenty of chances of finding someone later when he was older and less care free about how he spent his time. Graduation was approaching fast enough and he was more than keen to keep the life he had for just a little bit longer; Parkour, abseiling and jumping out of a plane included!
He let out a warm laugh and shook his head at KC’s comment. “I think I’d make a rather fetching owl. I have the flying down!”
He joked in reference to the extreme sports he did that kept his feet off the ground for the most part. If he wasn’t helping in Gotham after lock up, then he was usually unwinding in his apartment at this time. Sometimes there was work to be done or he’d catch up with some of his friends who now lived in different time zones. A lot of them he met at Parkour events or something similar and not all of them remained state side, so the invention of Skype proved useful for them to all keep in touch when there wasn’t something happening to bring them all together. “Then I’m glad! There’s no need for search parties here.” He said with that grin again. Dawson shrugged his shoulders as though the whole thing had been no big deal at all. He liked to make things big and crazy so that he could get a rush out of them. He knew there was a line somewhere though, but when it came to that day during KC’s lecture, it had been perfect to act the way he did. He had wanted to make it clear that he would go to extremes to date her and it must’ve worked or else they wouldn’t be here tonight having more fun than even optimistic Dawson expected. “Well, if it happened every day then it wouldn’t have the desired result and people would be pretty bored of it.” Luckily, Dawson seemed to be one of the guys who could get away with serenading someone, strangely enough. He could hold a tune relatively well as the past had already proven to him, so there was an added bonus that meant he was more charming than embarrassing when it came to it. He suspected that someone who was tone deaf trying to imitate his actions would probably lose the girl they were chasing. He hadn’t expected KC to be watching him at all during that, but then again, he had gotten just a little carried away with it all. Parkour had a way of taking over his system sometimes and Dawson forgot about everything else around him and any worries that may have been playing on his mind. He had been late for work once or twice because he had gotten so carried away with the activity and simply lost track of the minutes ticking by. Grinning, he walked closer to KC and grabbed her hand to lead her to one of the simple benches. “Of course, but don’t expect wall runs and side flips tonight.” He teased, pulling himself up onto the platform and gesturing for her to join him. “First of all, you need to learn to jump.” It sounded daft, but there was a technique and he slowed his moves down to show her what he meant. “Judging the gap is probably the most important thing, but this is hardly anything.” He gestured to the small space between the two low platforms and then jumped, swinging his arms for the momentum. It was rather simple, but KC had to build up from the start; he had seen guys struggle for a bit with some of the simplest moves before. [/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • TAGGED!KC! KC was having too much fun to grow up completely just yet. She was still young; there was plenty of time before she really had to get her act together. Her sisters seemed to have it all figured out, and when it came to her career, the blonde triplet did, too. But the rest of her life was another matter. She knew Tabs wanted to go back to California, and she wouldn’t begrudge her that. She’d had a happier life there. “You’d make a fantastic owl,” she said, patting his bicep reassuringly. There had only been a handful of times so far that she still wasn’t home from work at this hour. Since she’d started at the Whitney Museum she’d had to help out with set ups for fundraiser nights about six times. And then naturally, because she was a tour guide and knew all about the work on display, she had to stay to walk some of the more willing to fork out their cash for the museum, telling them things they didn’t care about. Those nights she knew what she was there for. A pretty faced babysitter, another person to verbally tap their hands away when they’re about ready to touch. It was a good thing she loved her job or she wouldn’t have lasted long at all.
“You don’t know my sisters,” she warned, but laughed. If there was one thing they could all claim to be, it was relentless with digging up the dirt and getting the details. Though she hadn’t actually given them a time that she would be home, just a simple don’t wait up, so hopefully they would let her have some fun. She was in some serious need of it with all the school work being packed on with the end of the year so close already. Just a bit longer and she’d be cramming for the finals. KC’s mind kept racing through that class, over and over again. “True enough,” she said, smirking. If everyone went around pulling stunts like that, it would eventually be a yawn. “And that reminds me, you may want to avoid that particular professor. She’s either going to tear you a new one or ask you to star in something. Either way, might be wise,” she said, biting her lip.
KC knew what it was like to go flying through the air with spins, twists and jumps, she was a gymnast. But what Dawson just did seemed so far out of her zone it was unreal. She followed Dawson over to what she thought of as the beginner’s start; which was exactly what she was in this case. “Damn and here I was hoping we’d be pulling off stunts from the Amazing Spiderman,” she said playfully. She hadn’t been expecting a learning session in Parkour, but now that it was here, she knew there was no way in hell she would be anywhere near ready for a wall run or any such thing. Those things too practice, something Dawson obviously excelled at while KC was just starting out. Still, she hoisted herself up on the platform easily enough, taking the time to pull her hair loose and redo it until a tighter ponytail. The messy bun she’d had it in would be too loose for her liking. She nodded, listening, taking it all in. She wanted to be able to do this right; no broken bones. She watched as Dawson jumped the short space between platforms like a natural born pro. She could only hope to be a quarter good at this. KC took a deep breathe, feeling the nervous, excited energy coursing through her system. This was just the beginning, baby steps but it was still exciting. Finally, she checked out the gap again and then jumped, landing rather gracefully on the other side. “How was that? Ridiculously awkward and terrible?” she asked, laughing.

He didn’t know what he wanted to do once graduation rolled around. For some people, that seemed ridiculous since they had five year plans in place and set goals for each year. Dawson wasn’t like that though and he still didn’t quite know what he would make a career out of when the day came. For now, working at Gotham was going to be enough and the lack of classes just meant that he would have more time to focus on his charity work and his sports. He was young; there was plenty of time for him to draw up some sort of plan or dream for his future. Besides, a day would come when he wouldn’t be physically able to do half of the crazy stunts he pulled now, so he wanted to make the most of his fitness whilst he could!
Chuckling, Dawon smoothed his hair over his forehead and shook his head. “If they’re anything like mine, then I know only too well to stay away.”
He joked. Viola’s teenage years had been testing to say the least. He and his brother had learnt very quickly to recognise the signs of a mood swing or tantrum from the youngest Naylor. Most of the time it only got worse if she believed her brothers had interfered in her newly found love life. If Dawson so much as spoke to the boy who was determined to win Viola over then he must’ve been meddling and if he was meddling then he was out to ruin her life and turn her into some kind of loser who would be excluded from all social gatherings or something equally as extreme in the teenage world. Laughing again, Dawson shrugged. The whole performance he had put on during the lecture had been totally worth it and he didn’t have a single regret about it, though there were several people who didn’t believe that he had honestly done something that basically screamed Hollywood Rom-Com, even though that wasn’t usually Dawson’s style. “I’m sure I can convince her otherwise. Besides, once I graduate she’d have to hunt me down with that sign-up sheet. I just made sure to go out with a bang!” He said with a wink and a cheeky little smile. It had taken him a good number of years to perfect most of his Parkour skills. Even now he wasn’t at the top of his game and there were plenty of people who were much better than him at what he did. Still, getting the beginning right was the only way to slowly build up the rest of the skills. It might have been a gruelling process, but it was something Dawson found to be worthwhile once you were actually able to free run your way across the city. “Alas, no. If anyone is being the Amazing Spiderman it’ll be me. I’ll let you be my Gwen Stacy though.” He playfully flirted, wiggling his eyebrows. He watched her make the jump, his trained eyes looking for any weaknesses in posture or landing. For a first timer, KC’s jump was not bad at all. Not feeling the need to make her redo it to correct anything, Dawson turned her to the right to face another platform which was the same distance away but lower. “It wasn’t bad at all. Now, we get to play with levels. Once you make this jump, we’ll try something a little different.” He only planned on keeping her here for an hour tonight, but that was still enough time to get her confident with the basic training course and run it a few times over. He’d bring her back if she wanted more. For now though, he made the jump with just as much ease as the first and waited again for KC to join him. KC didn’t have to worry about graduation and the most pressing thing on her mind was wondering what would come next during this date. She still had a couple years left in College before she was out in the real world and wondering how she was going to make a living being a nobody in the film industry. Though the next couple years would be filled with work, school and internships to find her place after her turn to graduate rolled around. Still, there was plenty of time to think about all that; she didn’t want it to interfere with this night. “Far away,” she said, laughing. Tabby wasn’t half as bad as the friends they’d had growing up. Some of their sibling rivalries were scary at some points. Thankfully, she and Tabs never really had that. They were usually about hanging out than trying to hang one out the window. “People will be remembering that for years. You’ll go down in history and the story will be told during the tour for prospective students. It’ll make all the girls flock to campus,” she said rolling her eyes. Though she had to admit, the tale had yet to fade and it was already starting to sound like a ghost story of ‘a friend of a friend’ kind of thing. KC wasn’t honestly sure if she’d believe it if it didn’t actually happen to her! It just sounded so much like something someone made up and yet she knew for a fact it was real and had happened; because she was the blonde in the story.
KC raised a brow. “What’s that supposed to mean? ‘Let me be’?” she asked, confused but not willing to show it, so instead she smirked. Gwen Stacy had nothing going for her as far as KC was concerned; aside from being Spiderman’s girlfriend. So, what was that supposed to mean? Was she reading too much into a simple comment, or did he say it for a reason? She had no clue but she wanted one. “I’m a gymnast. I was taught jumping, tucking and rolling when I was barely out of diapers,” she said, smirking. It didn’t matter that she told people, and could tell people she was a gymnast; they never really believed her until she showed them something. Apparently if you weren’t on the Olympic team, the hard work, hours and years you put in meant nothing. KC was good, but she was far from great; ironically it was her weight that kept her from advancing. She didn’t mind though, she’d rather be healthy than underweight and under the worlds’ scrutiny. Still, she nodded and watched Dawson carefully as he made the next jump. She wanted to make sure he was out of the way in case this time she did do something wrong. When she was certain, she made the jump, laughing when she landed just fine again. “What’s next?” she asked, her eyes bright with excitement. She was definitely going to talk Dawson into bringing her back here again another time.

Dawson was actually closer to his sister than his brother. Maybe it was because there were fewer years between Viola and himself, but he did feel like he could spend more time hanging out with his sister than with Levi. They may not have shared the same interest, but if they sat watching movies or just lazing about there was more of a laugh to be had with the youngest child than there was with the oldest. Granted, Levi was growing accustomed to family life and had been ready for it for a few years now. The younger siblings were far from looking forward to marriage and children in their own lives, but they were both still riding on the good side of twenty five, whereas his brother wasn’t and he’d been in love since his sophomore year of college. He was the son who fulfilled their mom’s dreams of weddings and grandchildren, which would take the pressure off of Dawson and his sister for a few more years. “Duly noted.”
He said with a laugh and a sharp nod of his head. He had to laugh. When Dawson did something, he didn’t do it half-heartedly. He wanted to be able to make an impression on the people he met and there was always someone reminding him of something he had done way back when, whether it was a tricky Parkour move, a charity stunt that people didn’t believe at first or, in this case, serenading a pretty blonde in the middle of one of her classes. “Well, if it boosts the university admission rates, then I want a statue in the courtyard.” He joked with a wide grin. He had no reservations about what he had done that day and he’d do it all over again if the situation called for it. Dawson smirked across at KC. He had been hoping for an opening like this one. He never claimed to be some Prince Charming or romantic know-it-all, and he liked to do things his way and if that meant combining a Parkour track with superhero humour then that was what he was going to roll with. “Well, it means I can swing about the city with you in my arms, you can dazzle me with your bravery and knowledge and, finally, it means that I really want to do this.” He took a step closer to her, his arm coming to her waist to close the small gap between them both. Dawson brushed some stray hair from her face, before tilting her chin upwards and pressing his lips gently to hers. He kept their first kiss brief, but still kept the slightest hint of passion. Most guys might wait until the end of the date and if it hadn’t been for this opportune moment that fitted his personality perfectly, he probably would’ve waited too. Still, he had wanted to kiss her since he picked her up earlier in the evening. He liked leaving people wanting more though, and he was still keen to show her the rest of what he had planned for the evening. “Well, that will certainly help you out when it comes to the basics of this.” He said with a smile, happy that the jumps were pretty simple for her. Most of the time it was confidence that held people back from progressing in Parkour. They were terrified of getting hurt, but like Dawson knew only too well; it was impossible to always avoid injury. “Now, we see how fast you can get back up.” This might take a bit more time than the jumps did for her, but it would all depend on how her upper body strength was. He pointed to the platforms before them; one was the same low height they were on and the second was the height of the medium one they started on. “Take it slow, first time across.” The gap wasn’t as large between them both and he made the jump to show her what they were playing with next. He tried to slow his own speed down so that she could see it a little clearer; he didn’t want her getting hurt. As he jumped to the medium one, he had to use his arms to pull himself up the block until he was standing. In a sense, it was just like climbing out of a swimming pool, but normally done much faster. He glanced at the clock on the wall, taking a note of the time. They had just enough time for her to run this part of the course a few more times before he would have to wrap things up for the night. They still had one more place to go after this. [/blockquote][/blockquote] • • • TAGGED! KC! WORDS! 828 OUTFIT! Suave Mate LYRICS! KC and Tabs weren’t the type of twins that did everything together. They hung out a lot with the classes their mother tossed them into and with school, but for the most part, the two had different lives. KC had played sports with the school, kept up with gymnastics and started in with the extreme sports when she was old enough. They had a lot of the same friends until High school when KC turned into the jock and Tabs turned into the Fashionista. But they were still close. And she thought the protectiveness was just a bit more because they were twins, not just sisters. KC laughed, nodding as well. There wasn’t much she could say. If she ever met Dawson’s siblings, she already knew that as bad as the interrogation could get, they would have nothing on Tabs.
A blush still coloured KC’s cheeks whenever she thought about Dawson bursting in and interrupting her lecture. And more that she’d gotten it all down on her laptop. She was pretty fast with typing but she hadn’t wanted to miss a single word of the lecture so she’d used the program and managed to capture everything else that had happened too. She had it written out and voice recorded, unable to delete it in case all of this really was a dream; and she really needed those notes. “Since I’ve got another two years, I’ll start the petition for you. Maybe they’ll name the gym after you,” she said, teasing. “I could remake the whole scene for my final project!” she added, smirking. She had been working on her final project since the beginning of the year really. There was a lot to put into the film. All the little script, lighting, wardrobe and sound projects were all part of her final production. She couldn’t turn around and redo the entire thing so close to the end.
She stood, waiting for his explanation, hands on her hips. She had been expecting some joke, a cheesy line or some crazy line about the comic book characters. What she hadn’t been expecting was for him to get that close, just a breath away. She hadn’t been expecting the feather light touch or the sweet kiss. She looked up into his deep brown eyes, her own blue orbs wide with realization before they fluttered closed a second later. The kiss wasn’t long enough in KC’s opinion and Dawson was pulling away soon after it had begun. It was just long enough for her to lose the smart mouthed comment she had poised at the tip of her tongue, however. So when he did pull away and she slowly opened her eyes again, she had nothing to say; speechless. It seemed like that was happening more and more lately with the charming ginger. It took her an extra minute to get her bearings about her and remember they were in the middle of their date and had to get back to it. But, did she ever want to do that again. The light blush colouring her cheeks said it all. But eventually she got her head back into what they were doing; where it needed to be if she wasn’t going to kill herself on the Parkour track.
She smirked, wanting to roll her eyes but stopping herself. ”Here’s hoping, anyway,” she said, laughing. The beam had been one of her better events once she’d gotten older but that didn’t really matter since upper body strength was half of what the sport was about. KC grinned; waiting for Dawson to show her what was next. “I’ve got this,” she said, waving her hand to move him forward. He knew what he was doing and she had a good eye for movements. Again, like before, she waited until he was safe and where he was supposed to be. And she’d watched his movements carefully so she would be better prepared for what she would have to do herself in the moment. As difficult as she knew it probably was, it all still looked fairly easy. Dawson was really good at what he did, that much was obvious. She was in the air and landing on the next platform before she even let herself think about it and climbing up the next, pulling herself up and to her feet. She nearly slipped once, but managed to catch herself and continue to lift herself up to her feet, taking a second to look back at the space they’d already crossed.

The one good thing about Dawson’s siblings was that they never interfered in his life unless it was necessary. His sisters didn’t interrogate his dates when he brought them home like he did theirs and his brother only wanted to know if the younger male was happy and often joked that the choices Dawson made affected him too, since there was a pint of his blood in the adrenaline junkie’s body. It was a joke that had lived on from that day and the accident that he couldn’t even remember since he hadn’t seen it coming. The funny thing was that if someone had just hollered “heads up”, he probably could’ve adapted Parkour moves to get out of the way of it, or at least dived to the ground metres in front, but apparently construction workers in Alaska are mute. Still, jokes and games pretty much summed up his sibling relationships, even though his sisters had distanced themselves during their teenage years to avoid the embarrassment of some of Dawson’s antics. They had friends who thought it was cool that he could jump around like Spiderman and played in a band, but the two Naylor girls just said that their friends didn’t get to see every side of him and if they ever did, they would understand their reasons for avoiding him.
Whilst he was quite athletic, the thought of having a gym named after him caused Dawson to wrinkle his nose. The adrenaline sports may have been a love of his, but music beat it time and time again. “Maybe one of the practice rooms instead?”
He suggested, as though this was to be a real compromise between the pair and his name actually would end up above a door at the university, on one of those gold plaques that often had some deep, cryptic quote on too that you just knew the person slaved away the night before to get it just right. After all, those things were supposed to inspire a generation or two of students who would one day collectively rule the world. “Just so long as you don’t cast some hipster who thinks he knows it all to play me. I couldn’t take the shame of him butchering this.” He gestured to himself and then flicked his hair as though he was throwing a diva tantrum or advertising shampoo. He smiled down at the speechless blonde; at least he now knew of a way to keep her quiet if he ever needed one! His blue eyes flicked to her lips again and he longed for another kiss, but he knew that if he gave into that temptation now that they’d be late for their last stop and probably never finish this date the way he had planned on doing! Dawson wasn’t usually the guy who planned everything out to the tiniest of details, but when he did he liked to see it through and he had put a lot of thought into this date tonight, especially since KC had proven to be rather difficult to catch! He watched her with the eyes of a teacher as she moved across the next bit of the course, chuckling softly when she almost slipped, but saved herself at the last moment. Everyone did that in Parkour, even the more experienced guys from time to time. Placing his hands on his hips he grinned down at KC. “Well, you didn’t die, that’s the main thing.” He joked, clapping his hands together and looking back across the small part of the course they had just crossed together. “Alas, it gets boring now because you have to practice at this before you can do anything further or higher.” He pulled a face, remembering how tedious it was for him back when he was just a beginner. If these few moves weren’t mastered to perfection though it could lead to a dangerous fall or misjudgement on more difficult parts of the course and Dawson didn’t want to rush KC into anything more complex and then wind up driving her to the hospital! He launched himself into a backwards somersault before landing on the ground neatly, folding his arms and looking up at the pretty blonde he left up on the platform. “You can have a practice now if you like? We’ve got about twenty or so minutes to spare.” He explained with a shrug, not minding if she wanted to keep running that part of track or do something else with that time. Try as she might to keep the serious tone and attitude, she couldn’t find it in her to stay that path. The smile on KC’s face was the same one she used at work when placating a petulant child not getting their way. It was polite but it was far from real. “Whichever you’d prefer, it’ll be your room,” She said, patting his arm as if she could do all this for him with a wave of her hand. “Though, if you chose a practice room, you’ll have to play for me. I have to know you can really play before I write up the paperwork,” she added, genuinely smiling this time. A free concert was always in the cards for KC and a private one, even better. KC enjoyed these odd conversations and light teasing. KC’s entire expression dropped and she pouted, crossing her arms across her chest. “Well, damn, now I’ll have to do more casting calls,” she said on a sigh as if she’d already done these. “Such a pain,” she muttered, shaking her head.
“That really needs a second take as soon as possible,” she said a little breathlessly. She had to blink a couple times to clear the webs from her brain that Dawson had put there. But that would have to be later. She had finally said yes to a date with Dawson, she really wanted to see this through and see what the night held for them. KC rolled her eyes, checking a hip as she crossed her arms when she’d made it across. “Oh, ha-ha,” she said drily. “And I heard you laughing at me,” she said pushing him lightly on the arm, trying to push him a little off balance. “Nothing’s boring with the right people,” she said, grinning and winked at him, teasing.
Shaking her head at his show of skill, KC launched herself a little higher than the platform in the air and executed a tight double tuck, not wanting to try anything any more difficult since she wasn’t used to the space. She landed well, laughing that she could still pull the moves off. She turned back to Dawson, huge grin on her face and her hands clasped in front of her. “Next time, I won’t slip. Can you show me once more?” she asked, determined to get this part of the process down. She was as stubborn as a pack mule her father always said. She wouldn’t stop doing something with gymnastics or dance until she got it right. With her more… exciting past times, it was a little harder to do things over and over again. But even then, she kept at it until she got it right at least ten times in a row; then she knew she would be able to do it every time. KC could spend hours trying to perfect the skills she would need to do Parkour. She already had some of the skills worked out; she just needed more practice and a gradual increase in speed until she was just as fast and quick as Dawson was.
