Rina hadn't remembered the free week she had before finals really began when she'd made plans to see Andrew again. When Rina did finally get reminded of it, she felt a little like a fool but still texted him to see if he was interested in seeing her sooner rather than later. She didn't have to worry about lying to Maddie, like she did when she extended her late stay in Europe. The younger Lupescu sister was going away with friends for the week to some beach town and as long as she was back before her sister, Rina wouldn't have to mention the trip at all. It was good for Maddie to get out with friends, have a normal life. It had always seemed to Rina that Maddie had the harder childhood, despite the model being a very sick child. And even though they made plans, Rina still felt nervous about Andrew really wanting to see her again. She'd made a right mess of it all in the beginning. Rina had been surprised that they'd continued to see each other for nearly a month, even catching a flight from Poland to Italy!
The Romanian model smiled to herself, remembering when she'd gotten that reply almost a week before, saying hefd love to see her again. She'd gone and booked the first available flight out at the start of the mini study holiday, unworried about her sister since she was leaving straight from campus. Rina had managed to pack her bags in under an hour the day before she left; a new record for the model, who normally took a week to pack for a weekend trip. Sorina sighed, running her fingers through her hair and coming back from memory lane. Her plane was about to start its' descend and the pilot was over the speaker system, asking the usual of the passengers. Hastily, she put her books back into her carrying on and shoved the bag underneath the seat, out of the way. She barely had time to sit back and check her seatbelt again before the plane slowly started down. And not ten minutes later, a flight attendant's voice sounded over the system, welcoming everyone to Paris, France. Rina was too excited to be in Paris, to see Andrew that she grabbed her bags as fast as possible before weaving around the other first class passengers to the front and with a quick thanks and goodbye; the young blonde was walking out into the terminal.
She'd only been to Paris a handful of times for work. She hardly knew a lick of the language, only the very basic of phrases. She hoped Andrew knew French or this trip would be hilarious. Rina worked her way through Customs, telling them this was a holiday as opposed to her usual work trips. The man behind the counter smiled and told her to enjoy her week in Paris before handing back her Romanian passport and allowing her to be on her way to pick up her luggage. Naturally, like any good airport, her luggage didn't go around the carousel the first time; or the second. Sighing, annoyed with what appeared to be every airport's luggage system, she took the time to turn her phone back on and check the messages she'd missed while on the flight. A few from Maddie, just checking in; another from Lexi, reminding her about finding a date for the ball, and Andrew saying he'd be waiting for her at the airport. That one made her worry but only because with the time differences, she didn't know when she'd be getting into France. It took four rounds but she finally spotted her luggage and made quick work of pulling the pieces off the conveyor.
Rina couldn't even be bothered by the time she was wasting, gathering her things, waiting on people to move out of the way or any of the other things that got under her skin when she was travelling for work. She wasn't there for work. In the handful of time she'd been to the country, not once did she get the chance to wander around the beautiful, old city and enjoy the atmosphere. She'd been too busy running here and there for shoots, or runways that by the time she had a free moment, it was filled with eating something, sleeping or catching up with school work if it was still during school. Standing out in the arrivals bay, Rina looked around for the eldest Grant sibling, but she didn't know if he was there or if she would be waiting for a bit. She didn't mind in the least, waiting on Andrew, it gave her some time to text Lexi, letting her know she made it alright and would ask the mystery man they'd talked about.

Andrew's "holiday" was actually turning out alright. He still had his fair share of money stocked up, having spent it somewhat sparingly, he had the prettiest tour guide known to man, and he was still New-York-drama free. To say the least, he was anything but ready to come home again. He and Rina had been hitting it off quite nicely, and he was slowly beginning to realize how much of his heart the blonde was taking claim to. She made the entire adventure so fun that it'd been hard to enjoy Europe without her after she returned to the Big Apple for school. Nothing was as beautiful without her there; no nights were as star-filled as when she'd been there to enjoy them with him. He wouldn't admit it, but he missed her.
No, Andrew wasted his time in safer manners than before they'd bumped into each other. Poker, a couple drinks, some art galleries; anything to lie low and out of the police's eyes. He knew his father and mother had people out looking for him, especially since the use of his passport was immediately reported back to the concerned parents and posters appeared on a "Missing Person" board in every airport. There had been a few narrow escapes since Rina's departure, and the risk of picking her up from the airport was huge. But, Andrew didn't think about it. He tore down the flyers whenever he saw them, wore caps and sunglasses as much as he could, and he'd even temporary-dyed his hair a couple times just to avoid any chance of someone recognizing him. No, he would risk everything to see the beautiful blonde again; he might even go back to New York for her.
He shook off the thoughts as he walked into the airport, checking the Arrivals board for Rina's flight. It looked like he had a couple hours, but he didn't mind waiting; a girl like her was worth waiting years for. Andrew wandered through a few of the cafes and stores, just blowing time until he had to head towards her terminal. He picked up her favorite coffee and a bouquet from some dinky shoppe, be careful to keep his face shielded from any security cameras as he finally walked over to where she'd hopefully be appearing. Andrew could feel his heart pounding a bit faster as he scanned the crowd, but he shoved any thoughts of it off. No; he could deal with that later. Maybe he'd ask her on a real date, or take her out to his new favorite park in Paris; he could do that after he saw her again.
The glimpse of blonde that caught his eye had him grinning and he quickly made his way towards her, coming up in front of her and holding out the gifts with his charming smirk. "I thought you could use these after the long flight," he said, taking her cases without a second thought. "Now, let's get out of here before security's surrounding us and accusing you of kidnapping," he teased in a whisper, nodding towards the door as the happy grin came back to his lips. Having Rina back with him was a dream that he planned to make use of; this blonde was too special to let go without at least fighting for her.

Rina didn’t know much about the inner workings of the Grant family. She was pretty clueless about everything going on, and as frustrating as it was, she didn’t want to pry in case she set him off and he never wanted to see her again. In the course of a month, she grew quite fond of the dark haired man. She knew there was trouble, but he didn’t seem inclined to include her in his problems just yet. That was okay with Rina; baby steps. He had told her a little, giving her some insight into the situation. After all, he did sort of disappear. Rina hated being in the dark about anything really. But especially being in the dark about someone she cared about being in trouble. He’d told her he was laying low for a while, trying not to use his passport as much, because it was being searched for but swore it had nothing to do with the law. That made Rina worry, naturally, but it had never really overshadowed wanting to see him again. She missed his messy hair, the stubble he’d forgotten to shave from his face that morning. His laugh echoed through her mind if she let it wander. Hell, Rina even missed his flirty façade.
She hadn’t wanted to admit that to anyone, though Lexi knew most of the truth. She still hadn’t dared tell her his last name, claiming she wanted to keep at least something secret and mysterious. She was a little afraid of what she’d find out if she told the pretty brunette Andrew’s last name. She didn’t need to know what he’d done in his past, that was behind them and before she’d met him. What mattered to Rina was the here and now and the future. After her childhood, Rina knew better than to hold onto what someone did in the past, it could all be forgotten and replaced with new, happier memories.
Rina looked up from her phone just as a shadow covered the screen and a smile spread across her face. "Well, hello to you, too, darling," she said, teasingly. She looked at the things in his hand accepting the coffee first as she slipped her phone into the back pocket of her jeans then the beautiful seasonal flowers. Carefully, she lifted the flower to her face, breathing in the fragrant scent. “They're lovely, thank you,” she said before switching the flower for the coffee and taking a sip as they walked through the airport. Her eyes closed for a second in absolute bliss. “My favourite, you remembered,” she said in aw, looking up at her handsome companion, falling just a little bit more for the charming man.
Outside the airport, Rina took a deep breath of the Parisian air. “Thank you for coming to get me. You didn’t have to. I could have easily gotten a cab myself if you sent me an address,” she said, taking a sip of her wonderful coffee. It was effortlessly ten times better than the sludge on the plane. For a group of people who went through massive amounts of training, one would think they’d be able to make a decent cup of coffee. She only asked for a double shot of espresso to get through the flight, but it would have been easier to drink Red Bull! “Are we catching a cab or taking the metro?” she asked, wondering if they would have to go back in the building for the metro’s entrance.

In all honesty, Andrew was an innocent man. His running had nothing to do with breaking the law, illegal anything, or even missed bills. He was simply running. His encounters with any government officials were not because of a criminal history; they were because of concerned parents. He'd already pictured his mother blaming it on Ember, saying the girl had rubbed off on him and sent him running. His father; well, he didn't know how his father would take it. Andrew had always been the golden boy who'd follow in Daddy's footsteps, but now he'd run off and left every responsibility to whoever cared to pick it up. If he ever went home, he had a feeling he'd get eaten alive by the CEO before being lectured by the father. The reason he hadn't told Rina was because he didn't want her involved in any of it. She was his escape; he didn't want to ruin that by spilling his entire world onto her slim shoulders. It was his problem to deal with, after all, and he was a big boy. He could take care of everything by himself.
Seeing her again was enough to keep him smiling for the rest of the day which, if they were going to be together, there wasn't a chance he'd stop. It felt wonderful to have her back, no oceans between them and no city reminding him of where he should be. It may have been selfish, but Andrew was glad he had her all to himself again; he wouldn't have to share her until she left again. Hopefully, by then, some spark would've errupted that sent this budding relationship further and the parting would be bring less confusing feelings than the last one.
"Sorry," he smirked cheekily, "Would you have preferred a welcome banner and one of those name signs?" Andrew's smile softened a bit as she breathed in the flowers, happy that he'd been able to make her smile within five minutes of seeing her again. "Anything for you, darling," he mimicked playfully. He wound his way through the airport, keeping his head down and his baseball cap pulled low. The security seemed to pass over him, at least, so it let him relax a little as he led Rina through the crowds. "Of course I did. I've also got a cafe picked out for dinner that I think you'll like," he said, giving her a secretive smile.
Andrew let out a deep breath as they made it out of the airport's doors. Now, to just get to the apartment without someone recognizing him. "And leave you all alone in the deadly streets of Paris? I don't think so, hunny. I was happy to come," he said in an attempt to close the matter. He wouldn't have left her all alone for the life of him, even if he could still possibly be dragged back to New York at any given moment. "Actually," he began sheepishly, nodding towards a tall apartment building a ways away in the distance. "I thought we could enjoy a walk instead of wasting money on a cab. We could catch one, if you're tired from the flight," he added quickly, biting the inside of his lip. He hadn't factored in that she'd probably be jet lagged and exhausted; he'd been to excited about seeing her again.

Rina didn’t think the time she’d spent away from Europe and Andrew could get any slower. But now that she was back, her breath came a little easier. She’d been caught a few times by her sister, dazing off to Poland and Italy again. She shook her head laughing. “Beautiful flowers and my favourite coffee are a much better way to be greeted! I get the whole sign thing enough. This was different, I liked it,” she said, smiling. Every time she stepped off a plane, there was a man in a nice black suit, matching black driver’s hat on his head and a white sign with her name scrawled in capitals in his hand. She was bored with it and annoyed since they almost never got her name right. “Dinner plans and I’ve barely been in the country twenty minutes, I think I’ve broken a new record somewhere,” she teased, happy to be with Andrew again. She’d missed him while they’d been apart, a lot more it seemed, than she’d even allowed herself to realize.
Because she’d promised, she hadn’t said anything that would give him up to anyone. She’d told Lexi only that she was seeing a new man and they were still figuring out where they were. Maddie she hadn’t said a word. She kept her sister in the dark about it all, only claiming that she was working a little crazier than usual and it was nothing to worry herself over. She didn’t exactly know where she and Andrew were and Rina didn’t want to mess up what they did have by spilling what little she knew to her closest friends. If she could talk him into the masquerade ball then they would meet him anyway. At least Lexi would. Rina gasped, holding the hand cradling her coffee to her chest. “Deadly streets? Now I’m even more thankful you’ve ventured out to get me,” she said, making her lower lip quiver. She’d been in Paris before, a few times in fact. But the blonde model had never been there enough to learn the beautiful language and now she was regretting it a little bit. “Keep me safe?” she asked, looking up at him through her lashes.
She glanced in the direction Andrew nodded, her pale eyes taking in the view. Those same eyes widened when she realized the only building really noticeable in the distance was an apartment building. “You’ve gotten yourself a place? Does this mean you’ll be sticking around here for a while?” she asked unable to stop herself from butting in, wondering what that meant for them. Was he starting to feel ready to be found? Truthfully, Rina was wide awake and probably far too hyper for her own good. She shook her head, stretching her arms in the air, her top rising to tease with an inch of skin. “I’ve just spent more hours on a plane than I would care to count, so a walk sounds really good right about now,” she said, sipping from her coffee again. During her career so far, she’d spent more time in the air than she’d ever want but it was all part of the adventure in Modelling and really she wouldn’t have changed a single second of the ride.

Andrew trusted Rina more than he let on, even to himself. He'd told her a lot already, enough that she could've sent people to find him and they'd have no problem doing it. His last name, part of the reason he'd run away, and she knew exactly where he was; that would've been enough to turn into the police, or even Ember. He knew they were friends, though he wasn't exactly sure how close, and he was kind of surprised that no one had turned up to collect him. The passport thing was expected, but there would've been more if she'd told someone; a hell of a lot more. In a way, it made him less nervous to tell her more. He would with the more time they spent together, and especially if more happened between them like he was hoping it would. Maybe she'd finally be the person he could trust, instead of being yet another person to only trust him.
He couldn't hide a smile when she said he liked his little surprise. It made him happy that he could make her smile like that, especially since this had only been a little thing. Her favorite coffee and flowers; small, but meaningful, and she'd seemed to see the weight of that. "I had to make sure I got the first date before all the handsome French boys whisked you away from me," he said back teasingly, giving her a smirk.
"Oh, yes, they're terrible. Flying croissants, rabid mimes, and all; it's not a safe world for a pretty girl like you," he said in a serious tone, though his eyes sparkled with fun as he glanced down at her. The joking vanished in an instant however as he answered gently, "Always." His face was tender as he uttered the single worded promise, eyes soft and filled with the feelings pounding in his heart right now. He turned away quickly before she could hopefully read it, attention back on finding his way out of the strange airport. Rina couldn't know about the love blossoming in his soul; he didn't want to risk what relationship they'd been building since meeting in Poland.
Andrew bit his lip and began heading towards the mentioned building, shrugging lightly. "It's just a two month lease, Rina," he said gently, shaking his head. "I'm here for as long as you are. After that... I don't know yet. Maybe I'll go down to South America for awhile or something; a place with beaches and a little hut to live in. It'd be nice, right?" He smiled hopefully at her, pulling her suitcase down the streets of Paris. The apartment really meant nothing; it was just cheaper than getting a hotel room. It was also a lot less flashy, and a lot less likely to get him noticed by anyone if he could blend into the native crowds rather than the hotel ones. "I was hoping you'd say that. It's not that far, and the fresh air's much better than New York's," he grinned happily, walking along and hoping that she couldn't hear his heart hammering away against his chest.

Because she wanted Andrew to trust her and confide in her, Rina kept her mouth shut. And she had really wanted to tell someone; which was how she’d told Lexi as much as she had. The need to speak was there, and though it was easy to stamp it out, it was still there. It had been easy to keep her knowledge away from his sister though. She knew whatever kept him from New York had to do with his sister. And knowing that stopped her from outright asking him to the ball at the end of the month. They came from a wealthy family, surely someone would know him at the ball and if he wasn’t actually ready to be found, he wouldn’t want to go back to New York for her; even if she begged and pleaded. At least, she didn’t think so. She didn’t know how he was going to react when she asked him to accompany her to the ball. Would he say no? Would he say yes? This single issue kept taking over during the flight if she allowed her mind to wander away from her books.
She loved the surprise in fact but she was still a little nervous about where they stood to even utter the word. Being around Andrew was the first time she’d been nervous in a very long time. Since her childhood drama, she wasn’t usually afraid, scared or nervous about anything. She just did whatever came to her and worried about the consequences later. “They wouldn’t have a chance,” she said, lifting the flowers to her face again; mostly to hide the blush she felt colouring her cheeks. They were so beautiful and smelled so wonderful. Rina gasped. “Not airborne pastries! This madness must come to an end!” she said, giggling, unable to keep them at bay. Just the picture those words created set the young model into a fit of giggles, playing along only added to them. The blush that coloured Rina’s face moved in quickly and she didn’t have time to hide or will it away. She hoped Andrew didn’t see the reaction to his words; though they meant more than he could possibly imagine.
Surely it was too soon for her to be thinking such things. She couldn’t claim him as hers when they hadn’t talked about anything. She wanted him to trust her with everything but she knew he couldn’t do that yet. And she actually wanted to tell him her life story. She never wanted to tell anyone about her childhood. When asked, she always says her childhood was different but she wouldn’t change it; it made her who she was. But to actually tell the whole story, the pain the medication, the chemo? Telling someone had always been on her “when I’m a household name, I’ll become an advocate”. Her feelings must have been even more serious than she’d initially thought! She coughed, clearing her throat. “That’s um, very good to hear,” she said, keeping her eyes on the route through the airport, now willing that flush away.
Rina loved the outdoors, a by-product of being stuck inside for much of her childhood. As soon as she stepped outside the sliding glass doors of the airport, it was like she could finally breathe. “That’s still a longer commitment than hotels,” she snuck in, trying to sound casual about the whole thing. She could swear he heard the blood rushing through her veins. Still, she nodded, absolutely agreeing that a nice, sunny beach somewhere around the equator would be a wonderful adventure; or possible next destination, though she was hoping she would be able to talk him into returning with her. “A little place by the beach would be wonderful,” she said, knowing she had to say something about it; nodding would only get her so far. She really had to laugh at his words. “I’m pretty sure any air is better than New York’s,” she commented behind her coffee cup, shaking her head. As they walked, Rina asked about his travels, where he’d gone off to after she’d left Italy and she told him how dull school was. She only had one more year, though she still wasn’t sure what she was going to do with herself. She had a plan, and she was only thinking what if, but if Andrew was still around then and this wasn’t just some odd, casual fling, would she want to go back to Romania? Would he go with her? Would he convince her to stay in New York? It was all too soon to tell and she shouldn’t have been thinking about that either, but it was there, in the back of her mind; it was there.

At the moment, Andrew didn't have thoughts about going back home. New York was so stressful, full of drama, and exhausting that he really couldn't imagine himself willingly going back. Even if someone did come to collect him and bring him home, he was over 18; he legally didn't even have to go with them. Still, they would've found him and his father, and quite possibly his mother, would be out to the country on the fastest and quickest flight to drag him home. If they got wind that he was back on American soil again, you could bet the same thing would happen, and Andrew would be facing more questioning and torture than any criminal. No; it was safer to just keep running, even switch continents so they'd have less of a chance of tracking him. Really, though, his moving depended on Rina. Where she wanted to go, what she wanted to see; it was all up to her. He didn't have any other ties besides her pretty blonde hair, so he had no objection to switching to whatever location she chose.
Andrew made his way down the street towards the apartment building, looking around at the familiar hideouts he'd already developed. The park, for one, and a bakery nextdoor to the building. There was the cafe he had picked out for dinner, along with a couple little stores he figured she'd like; clothes, and whatnot, and a flower shoppe. "I could always find one off a nude beach for us. I hear those are pretty popular down there," he smirked wickedly down at her, trying to keep himself from chuckling at the idea. "Very, very true. I have to say, I'm a big fan of this air, though, despite the flying food," he said, smiling contentedly. Now that Rina was here, Paris couldn't be more amazing; it already had beauty over New York.
He led Rina around to the back-door of the building, knowing it'd be less crowded and easier to get her case upstairs. He pulled out his key to unlock the door, letting her go in before him. "It's not great, but it's got a great rent price," he joked, walking with her into the elevator. He pressed the button for the top floor. "I've got the room with the best view. And, every morning, you can smell the bread being baked in that bakery from next-door," he said, grinning down at her. Andrew was proud of his humble bachelor pad, but he was hoping her feminine touch would brighten it up a bit. He came out of the elevator and headed towards the closest door, unlocking it and holding it open for her. "Welcome home," he smiled softly..

Rina couldn’t think about staying in New York forever. She had to move, she had to explore the world. But for right now, it was where she both wanted and had to be. School and her sister had her there, but the city was a good place to have a modelling career; even though she was getting more and more work across Europe. Her feelings about it all though were becoming less about wanting to be there and more about wanting to be with someone. She could have a job anywhere with her contacts. Right now, she couldn’t have Andrew just anywhere. Rina laughed shaking her head, “You are such a guy,” she said, rolling her eyes at him. “Besides, with all those male eyes looking my way, won’t you get a little jealous?” she asked, a wicked spark brightening her own pale orbs.
“Free breakfast if you can catch one,” she said, chuckling at the very idea of having to catch your breakfast. It was part of the reason she’d never gone camping before. When she was in the hospital, her father used to joke that when she was all better, they would go and she would have to catch her own food for every meal. The idea just didn’t sit well with the younger Rina and it had stuck with her. She’d found out later, he was only kidding to tease her and give her reasons to beat the AML but if that had all she’d had going for her, it wasn’t promising. She took another small sip of her coffee, wanting it to last until she was able to throw the cup away. The building didn’t look that far away, she could keep it until then. Rina was a fan of cobblestone streets, they were where she’d learned to ‘walk’ but that didn’t mean they weren’t killer on the heels. It was a workout just trying to make sure those heels didn’t snag between the ancient stones. She did good work of it though, and they were entering the building quickly enough.
“The building is nice, so your new place can’t be that bad,” she said, teasingly. Andrew seemed nervous about something. Was it that she was there now and going to see where he had been and will be staying for some time? She leaned against the back of the elevator, finally feeling the blah from the plane hit her. She was in near desperate need for a shower and maybe even a quick catnap; just something to refresh her if the shower failed. Rina sighed, “Waking up to the smell of fresh baked bread every morning? Bliss,” she said, closing her eyes and imagining just that. She would get to do that for the next few mornings but would that really be enough? “You are one lucky man, Drew,” she said, opening her bright blue eyes and smiling up at him.
Hesitantly, Rina crossed the threshold into Andrew’s latest abode. There would be a great view being on the top floor and what she saw had a lot of potential though she knew Andrew wasn’t staying and buying little knick knacks would be useless. Still some flowers and a couple throw pillows would definitely brighten the place up, and give it the touch of a woman. She stepped in and out of the way, going to take in that view. Leaning against the wall, she slipped off the high heeled sandals she’d foolishly decided on. She hadn’t been thinking about convenience when she’d chosen them, only looking nice for Andrew. Had she been thinking comfort, she would have worn flats of some kind. “It’s lovely, Andrew, and the view is spectacular,” she said, smirking at the new height difference between the two. She turned away to glance back at him. “I have something to ask you but it can wait until much, much later. First, I’m in desperate need of a shower,” she said, pulling her shirt away from her stomach. “I smell like airport,” she added making a face.

Andrew was born and raised in New York. He hadn't spent every moment of his life there, but a good portion of it involved the bustling streets and loud citizens. Actually, this "trip" to Europe was the most time he'd ever spent away from his hometown. A few of the nights that Rina had been back home, he'd caught himself unknowingly listening for the usual midnight sounds of New York that Paris or Poland couldn't match. It took him a minute to remember that he wasn't home, and that he probably wouldn't be back for a very long time. He wouldn't admit to missing it though, not in a million years. Confessing to that would be like confessing to murder; two things Andrew could not afford at any cost possible.
The charm behind his smile wasn't fake for once and, as he smirked down at Rina, he could honestly say he wasn't hiding behind a mask. "I'd be too busy staring myself to notice," he said back, his smirk turning wicked as his eyes met hers.
Andrew led her through the building, shrugging modestly. It wasn't what he would've had if he'd had access to all the bottomless bank accounts back in New York, but it would do. If he'd had the money he'd grown up on, you could've bet he'd had maids to wait on her, spa appointments in place, and anything else her pretty little head demanded. As it was, he kept to his budget and tried his best to make their time together fun, and that included the space they shared. "I will say I've been down there every morning buying some just because of the smell," he chuckled nervously. He had been buying rolls and loaves just because he could, and just because they were cheaper and better than the market's.
He followed her into the aparment he'd learned to call home by now, closing the door behind himself and pocketing the key. He had a spare set around somewhere for her, figuring that she'd liked to have one so she wouldn't get locked out. Andrew went up to the window, too, standing next to Rina and looking out at the view that had caused him to rent the room in the first place. "I was hoping you'd like it. It's even prettier come sundown," he added, his own eyes turning towards the Paris streets for a moment. As she spoke, he looked down at her, quirking an eyebrow quizically. "Now you've got me wondering what it is," he teased. "Bathroom's the first door on the left. I bought you some fancy Paris soap from the street market the other day. The lady said it'd be a perfect present," he said, already off towards the door to display his next surprise. "And, you smell perfect, as always, Rina," he grinned sweetly, opening up a cabinet beneath the sink and revealing a basket filled with shampoo, body wash, and other frilly things fit fo a princess.

When Rina wasn’t in the big apple, she missed the fast pace and the city after dark noises. But she also missed the quiet calm of the neighbourhood she’d grown up in. She did remember a time before sterile white walls and a steady beep when the neighbourhood was a nice place, quiet with only the sounds of the night song of birds, other animals and insects. And then after the sterile walls and steady beeps let her go, she remembered the same things, like her small part of the world at night hadn’t changed. After a few years, when she’d been discovered, she found herself wishing she was back home in her twin bed with its flower sheets and matching motif throughout her room, because she hadn’t been used to the loud noises of the city. Her neighbourhood hadn’t been anywhere near the downtown core of the busy capital city, so it had been easy growing up to pretend she wasn’t in the city but in the country where princesses lived in their castles. Though instead of dreaming of her very own Prince Charming coming to save the day, before the hospital she had dreamt of the puppy she’d wanted and the football game her and her team wanted to win. Despite being small, she remembered clearly wanting to win the games so her coaches would look at the group of young girls and smile, telling them they did a good job and he was proud. After the hospital, she dreamt of a day when she would be all better and there would be no telltale signs on the long and tiresome process she’d undergone to get where she was. She’d lost all her hair during the chemo and had kept to herself, wearing lots of hats and scarves atop her head until her blonde locks started growing in thicker than ever.
Now though, she was thinking about that Prince Charming, only she wanted to be the one that rescued him! “Bine, I would be deeply disappointed otherwise," she said raising a brow, a smirking twisting the corner of her lips. She would never get used to people seeing her completely naked, feeling as though people could see her imaginary chemo scars and take pity on her but she could and did do some more revealing shoots. She chalked it all up to being part of the job and as long as they were done tastefully, she didn’t have a problem with it. Rina liked how honest Andrew was. It was rare in her line of work to get an honest word from someone. And the people she had in her life, the ones she deemed friends had to be honest with her or there wouldn’t be much of a friendship. Rina always had someone telling her what they thought she wanted to hear, and it was nice to know that when she spoke to Andrew he really, truly meant what he said. And he made her blush, something only previously accomplished with a heavy coat of makeup.
Knowing how Andrew grew up, she understood how he must have been feeling about the smaller apartment. But she also knew he was trying to live under the radar for the time being and it really was a sweet building. She did wish though that he wouldn’t waste his money on her. She enjoyed the time they spent just sitting about chatting about everything. It gave her the opportunity to get to know him without all the flash and dazzle. Rina smiled, “I can see living here having its toll on the waistline,” she said teasingly pinching her own sides, knowing full well that she would be right there with him in the line for that wonderful smelling bread. If there was one thing in the world the French could do well, it was pastries and bread; two things in her line of work she should have avoided like the plague. Luckily for her, she didn’t have to avoid them, though and welcomed them quite enthusiastically. She smiled, looking up at him. “Sunset in Paris,” she said on a sigh, looking back out the window and picturing the scene flushed in the pale pink and orange glow of the setting sun. It would be lovely, picture perfect even.
Rina followed Andrew around the apartment to the door he’d mentioned. This space definitely needed a feminine touch, at the very least a lavender candle or three. It could have been just her and enjoying baths to relax but a little ambience never hurt. If they walked past a store selling what she had in mind, she would slip in and pick up a few things. She watched him open a cabinet, revealing more treats he’d purchased with her in mind and her heart swelled. Her eyes softened as she snuck past him, brushing her hand along his back and side in the process to touch the bottles. “Oh, Drew, you’re spoiling me. Careful a girl could get quite used to this treatment,” she said, looking up at him with a sweet smile. She’d never had anyone take care of her like this before. She wasn’t quite sure what to do with herself but thank him for the surprises and sweet gifts. This also meant that most of the toiletries she’d packed would officially stay exactly where they were, buried in one of the two suitcases she’d brought with her. She leaned up brushing her lips against his cheek. “Thank you,” she said as she fell back to steady ground. “Now be gone with you!” she added, laughing.
She waited until he left her alone in the room with a set of fresh towels and her soaps before she turned the water on and undressed; touching the thoughtful gift once more. She showered using her new things, and was out of the shower wide awake and ready to take on whatever Andrew had planned for them. Rina dried off, wrapping herself in one of the plush towels, using the other to do a quick dry of her hair, preferring to let it air dry before she worked a brush through the thick locks. She cleaned off the mirror as habit dictating, taking a quick look in the mirror. She hardly wore makeup unless it was a fancy situation or she was working, so seeing her own face looking back makeup free wasn’t an unusual sight, and she was happy that taking the quick looked proved she didn’t look the least bit tired. She turned to gather her things and then remembered she’d left them all in her suitcase by the door. Well, she wasn’t about to call out to Andrew like a timid little girl. She was all grown up, they both were, and she was covered; though the thought of Andrew seeing her wasn’t as scary as she might have thought. It might have gotten her heart racing but in a good way. Squaring her shoulders, Rina took a deep breath and opened the door. The difference in temperature hit her first, like it always did but that didn’t stop her, she walked right out into the living room and to her bags. “I feel so much better now,” she said, taking a deep breath of the air that still smelled of the sweet bread from downstairs. She detached the smaller case, allowing her access to the bigger case with all her clothes. “I assume your room is the other door?” she asked, smirking. She was going to walk back down the hall when she remembered she didn’t even know what time it was. Did she need to get ready for dinner or did they have time before that. She turned back, a little confused. “Should I get ready for dinner?” She asked, unaware if dinner was a formal thing or casual thing! She was really in the dark.

Andrew had grown up with money coming out of every nook and cranny. His house, his school, his clothes, his everything; it'd been screaming "money!" since the day he'd been born. He'd never really had to live without it before, either, especially not since he'd finished college and taken up his job at the family company. Being groomed to take over the company payed pretty damn well, and it'd only helped make him more comfortable with the idea of always having money at his fingertips.
Running away, however, did nothing but rip through bank accounts like a wildfire did through a forest, and he was quickly beginning to realize how hard it was to save rather than spend. He'd cleaned out as many of his accounts as he could, knowing that he'd need to money for however long he planned to stay out of New York, but, it still wasn't enough for the boy who was used to golden plates and spoons. If he'd had his credit card, he could've rented out the most beautiful penthouses and hotels for himself and Rina; bought clothes, diamonds, and lavish dinners for her; had honeymoon-worthy places to see with her by his side. But, now, all he could afford were flowers, soaps, and coffee; absolutely nothing compared to what his New York-self would've been buying for her.
Andrew couldn't help a grin as Rina reacted to his second surprise. The feeling of her fingers brushing him had a light shiver forcing its way through his body, but he fought it off and turned his attention fully on her. He loved spoiling her with little things like this; gifts that showed how well they were beginning to know each other. The entire basket was filled with strawberry-themed items; body wash, shampoo, conditioner, other girly-things the woman had been gushing about. Andrew knew she loved the scent, so he'd purchased the basket the moment his eyes fell on it in the market. "Would it be that hard to get used to?" he asked, trying to gauge her reaction to the question. He loved doing things like this to get her to smile; heck, that was why he did it. Andrew cherished the feeling of making someone smile for once, instead of having everyone upset at him for not controlling his sister or not meeting a deadline or just anything. With all of that, making her smile was like a tiny piece of heaven. "Any time," he said, trying to hide the light blush that came into his cheeks from her kiss.
He quickly fled the bathroom when she ushered him out, going and preparing himself for dinner. They weren't going anywhere fancy, but his hair could use a comb and a bit of cologne wouldn't hurt any. Andrew buzzed around the bedroom, tidying it up a bit and getting ready before coming back out to the living area to grab a glass of water. At the sound of the door opening, he turned around, his jaw dropping as he saw the towel-clad figure coming out of the bathroom. He couldn't help blinking as he tried to re-gain his self-control, and it took him a moment to realize she was talking to him. "Yeah. Uhm, yeah. I saved you half the closet and the top drawers of the dresser," he stuttered hastily, turning himself back around and taking a long drink of his water. His heart beat hard against his ribs, fighting hard against the thoughts that began to run through his mind. That towel was such a tease at what lied beneath; but he didn't want Rina for that. He didn't want a sex-buddy; he wanted someone who understood and liked him for who he was without the money. "Take your time. It's just the place down the street, and they've already got a table saved for whenever we come by," he said, voice controlled as he ran a nervous hand through his hair. Andrew carefully went and sat down on the couch in the living room, flipping the TV on so he wouldn't stare at Rina like he so wanted to.

There was money in Sorina’s life; she’d never grown up wanting for anything. But, unlike her sister, the money more annoyed her than impressed her. She could admit to the money giving her what her heart truly desired when she’d been a young child. The money her parents had had paid for the medical procedures, the chemo, the hospital stays and the doctors. But once she’d been out of the hospital, young Rina hadn’t much cared for the fortune. She hadn’t wanted the small amount of friends she did have only being around her for her things, her parents’ money. She had wanted them around her for her, because they liked her as a person. It all came down to Rina not loving the money she’d always had. Since she started working, she bought her own things, and didn’t ask for a dime of her parent’s fortune. She had her own and she was good with what she earned as a model. It gave her the money to buy whatever she pleased, keep a good flat when she was old enough to live on her own and still have plenty saved in the bank for whatever emergencies arose.
What it all came down to was Rina not caring if someone came from money. She wanted to be impressed by the man not the money and with Andrew, she was. She didn’t care if he could go out and spend a small fortune on making her happy, just being with him had her heart skipping beats. Rina smiled, not sure if she could get used to having someone pamper her so but she would try her damnedest to get used to it. “I’ll let you know,” she said honestly smiling up at him, because that was all she could say, really. She’d spent so much of her free life being independent; it was a little difficult to tell right now, how she was going to take it. She liked Andrew a lot and she didn’t want to upset him in any way, she just wanted used to it.
Fresh out of the shower and feeling better than she had before leaving New York, Rina smirked at the reaction she was getting from Andrew. She didn’t think she’d ever heard him stutter before; it was cute. “That’s sweet of you, thank you,” she said, grinning like a cat in the cream. She had taken two steps when she’d remembered and now that she’d been told she could continue, stopping once again to snatch up the other suitcase. “Wonderful! I’ll be out in a few,” she said, retracing her steps down the hall, this time going to the other door and letting herself into the bedroom. The space was minimalistic, just enough things to know the room wasn’t used for much more than sleep and changing clothes. She tossed one then the other suitcase onto the bed, opening the biggest one first, then the other. The second was full of shoes, accessories and the bare minimum of makeup supplies; basically nothing that needed to be unpacked at all, though she did need things from it. Although she would take out the perfume bottle and a couple pieces of jewelry just so the top of the dresser top wasn’t so bare.
Rina unpacked her things, checking them over to see if it was something she would want to wear to dinner. Spring in Paris wasn’t cold and she’d have Andrew with her if she developed a chill so something thick or warm wasn’t necessary. Eventually, she was putting her things away, she settled on a strapless flowered dress with a pair of simple flip flops and one of the cross body bags she’d snatched up at the last minute while packing. The sun was still bright so she slipped a pair of sunglasses into the bag along with her wallet. She grabbed a couple extra accessories to add to the look and quickly dressed in what she chose, leaving the flip flops on the floor beside the dresser. Once dressed, Rina turned around to put the last shirt in the closet when her knees gave way and she fell to the edge of the bed, staring at the closet. Her clothes had never shared a closet with someone else’s, ever. And now they inhabited the same closet as the man she was staying with. Of all the things to knock her off her feet, seeing the closet filled with both their things got to her. The blonde model was sure it was in a good way, a tingling feeling was spreading throughout her body and a smile was replacing the open mouthed stare. Yeah, it was definitely a good thing.
Carefully, she ran a comb through her hair, the thick locks not quite dry yet, but almost. Then she added some product so the soft curls wouldn’t flatten out and moved across the hall to the bathroom once more really quickly to gather the clothes she’d left and check her appearance in the mirror. She hadn’t added any makeup, wanting Andrew to see her and not the model then went quickly into the bedroom again to toss her clothes into her suitcase. She closed both cases and leaned them against the wall in the closet before snapping up her shoes and taking her bag from the bed and leaving the room; shutting the door behind her. Rina found Andrew sitting on the couch in the living room, looking too into the TV to be paying any actual attention to it. Rina smiled, rounding the couch to stand just beside him, out of the way of his view of the show he had on. “Is this okay?” she asked, hoping it wasn’t too casual despite Andrew saying it was just the place down the street.

Andrew had been raised with the idea that he needed money to be successful. His father strongly believed that idea, and his mother had come from the same background of wealth, money, and family fortune. They both had pounded into his head that he needed to follow in their footsteps, both with the company and family life. It had always been expected of him to marry some pretty little heiress-airhead who'd sit around and waste his money on shoes, then have a child, preferrably son, who'd take over the gun company like he'd done. But, Andrew had a feeling that this whole running away thing was going to throw that plan for a loop. Plus, when he came home hopefully with a model on his arm, his parents would start second-guessing that "golden boy" life they'd set up for him.
He wasn't nervous about sharing the apartment with Rina. They'd shared a room in the last couple places they'd travelled to, though there had been more than one closet and bed at those locations. This place was smaller, which he'd freely admit, but it was cozy and cheaper and had one of the best views of the city. Sure, there were airplanes flying over constantly, the bedroom and living space was cramped, and sometimes the pipes made odd noises; it was comfortable though, and that was all he really needed at the moment.
Andrew lounged across the couch, his eyes staring at the Paris news as he tried to erase the image of Rina in a towel. It was too tempting; too distracting. He couldn't afford thoughts like that, especially since nothing had actually happened between him and Rina yet. He wanted it to, that much was true, but he didn't know what she wanted; if she even wanted him. They were friends, and he didn't want to ruin that. He didn't know how long he'd last, however, when she kept walking around like that.
His eyes quickly snapped from the screen as Rina appeared, a smile on his face as he looked her over. "Perfect. You ready to go, then?" he asked, getting up off the couch. Andrew flicked off the TV, grabbing his wallet and keys off the counter of the kitchen and waiting for her to get anything else she might require.

It wasn’t Rina who was all about the family fortune, she was doing quite well on her own with her salary and endorsement deals with certain designers and cosmetics companies. No, no, being in the hospital, she hadn’t use the money like Maddie had so she didn’t feel about it the way her sister did. The girl had a job but still used daddy’s credit card to pay for the more expensive things. Plus, he still gave her money every month like an allowance because she was in school. The girl had it made, really, and only worked because it was something to take up time. Rina had the same limitless credit cards, but she never used them unless it was a serious emergency. If she ever used them, she was sure her parents would think something terrible was wrong and would rush to phones or planes to get to her. Because she’d been sick, there had never been anything expected of her. Once she was out of the hospital, her parents had thought she’d finish school and basically stay home, go party and spend their money. When she’d been scouted and started modelling, they had agreed to let her but they never expected her to be the one to have children; though that was more because she had been sick. Rina had never thought about children, mostly because her career was important to her and secondly because she was fearful the child would develop AML. In that case, it was easier to blame her career than tell the truth.
Rina wasn’t a shy person. Considering how her childhood went, she should have been but she had gone in the opposite direction as her parent’s thought she would. She didn’t rebel so much as jump off bridges, climb mountains and raise money for sick children. When it came to sharing a hotel room with Andrew, she’d had some concerns but they were quickly put to rest by her own mind. They were friends, and that was the thought that kept going through the blonde model’s mind. And did she ever hope it didn’t stay just that way forever. Rina liked Andrew, a lot. But in Italy they hadn’t known each other well or for long and as bad as models’ reputations could be, Rina wasn’t that girl. They had shared those hotel rooms, so Rina wasn’t concerned in the least about sharing his apartment with him for the week she would be there this trip. And hopefully, if he said yes, she would be sharing her apartment with him because she could take a guess that he wouldn’t want to go to his own with his sister there.
Rhi did a little twirl to show off the pretty dress she’d bought for this particular trip. She’d seen it in a store window and couldn’t resist picking it up. She had heels she could pair it with but opted out for comfort, choosing a pair of her favourite flip flops. She’d already switched out her bags when she’d been in the bedroom putting her things away. A light blush coloured Rina’s cheeks. “Absolutely,” she said smiling. Standing by the door, she checked her bag for her phone just in case Maddie called her for whatever reason and she had to act as though she were just sitting around New York bored to tears with only studying and work to keep her company.
